Yeshua's Ministry

(Please note: This bible study can be directly accessed on the Internet at http://www.enterHiscovenant.com/BibleStudy20171014.htm)

Hi! I'm Pastor Floyd! I wish I had a photograph of you, too, so that I could visualize to whom I am talking! But Yahuah Hayah, the Self-Existent, Eternal I AM, the Creator of all and King over it, knows who you are; and that's all that matters!

Welcome to our friends all over the world! Whoever you are, whatever time of day it is for you, the amazing and wonderful thing is that we are together for this hour, fulfilling Yahuah's prophecy through Yeshua:

This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come! (Matthew 24:14)

In a previous study we looked at the words of Yeshua ha Mawshiyach as He taught His disciples and "the multitudes ... up into a mountain"! (Matthew 5:1) And I ran out of time; so I am picking up now where we left off! Yeshua said:

17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy but to fulfill! 18 For, verily, I say unto you, Till Heaven and Earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. 19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of Heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of Heaven. (Matthew 5:17 to 19)

Why do you suppose that Yeshua was interested in pointing out that He was not "come to destroy the law, or the prophets"?

I submit, to you, that it was because Yahuah Hayah's Torah or "law" contains His offering to His beloved children, of the only way He would ever give them by which to "enter into the kingdom of Heaven"! Yeshua said:

Except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of Heaven! (Matthew 5:21)

So Yahuah Hayah's "righteousness" is His key to entering into His kingdom, whether of Earth or Heaven; He said, through Yeshua, through Moses:

It shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before Yahuah, our God! (Deuteronomy 6:25)

So, if this "righteousness" that Yahuah Hayah offered in His Torah or law is indeed His key to entering "into the kingdom of Heaven" (Matthew 5:21), what would be the target of Satan, the evil angel who wants Yahuah's children destroyed? Would it not be Yahuah's Torah or law?

We find that Paul wrote: "Ye are not under the law" (Romans 6:14; Galatians 5:18) because "ye could not be justified by the law of Moses" (Acts 13:39); in fact, he taught that "2 If ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing! 3 For I testify, again, to every man who is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. 4 Christ is become of no effect unto you; whosoever of you are justified by the law, ye are fallen from grace!" (Galatians 5:2 to 4)

These statements come across as though they were, indeed, the work of Satan through Paul; but he also wrote other things, which require that we be "rightly dividing the word of truth"! (2nd Timothy 2:15) Peter wrote, of Paul's writings:

15 According to the wisdom given unto him, our beloved brother Paul hath written unto you; 16 ... of these things, in which are some things hard to be understood, which they who are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction! (2nd Peter 3:15 and 16)

I call my ministry "Faith Harvest Israel"; because "the children of Israel" (Deuteronomy 29:1) are the only people specifically commanded by Yahuah Hayah whom one can find in His Holy Bible! He wrote, through Yeshua, through Moses:

Yahuah shall establish thee an holy people unto Himself, as He hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of Yahuah, thy God, and walk in His ways! (Deuteronomy 28:9)

So without being commanded or without keeping, observing, guarding or putting a value on His commandments, one cannot receive His blessings, which include “eternal life”! (Matthew 19:16) Yeshua said:

If thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments! (Matthew 19:17)

He was answering the question: What good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?" (Matthew 19:16)

So, when Yahuah Hayah said, through Yeshua through Moses: "I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live" (Deuteronomy 30:19), He was talking about His "eternal life"! And, when He said through Yeshua through Moses, "46 Set your hearts unto all the words that I testify among you this day, which ye shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law! 47 For it is not a vain thing for you; because it is your life" (Deuteronomy 32:46 and 47), He was talking about His "eternal life"!

Yahuah Hayah said, through Yeshua, through Moses: "It shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments" (Deuteronomy 6:25); So "our righteousness" is the key to Yahuah's accepting us into His kingdom! He said: "I am ... come to call ... sinners to repentance!" (Matthew 9:13)

"Repent" is the the translation of a word meaning to "think differently"! (Strong: Greek: 3340) And "sin is the transgression of the law"! (1st John 3:4) So Yeshua came to call sinners to "think differently" about their "transgression of the law"! Yeshua told Pilate, the Roman governor who was about to order Him beaten and crucified: "To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth! Every one who is of the truth heareth My Voice!" (John 18:37) He said, "I am the way, the truth and the life! No man cometh unto the Father but by Me!" (John 14:6) And Yahuah Hayah wrote, through His psalmist: "Thy law is the truth" (Psalm 119:142); and "all Thy commandments are truth". (Verse 151) Yeshua said, "Other sheep I have, who are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear My voice! There shall be one fold and one shepherd!" (John 10:16)

What "fold" was Yeshua talking about?

He was talking to "the Pharisees" (John 9:40), who were Jews, who were descendants of the tribe of Judah, who were one of the tribes of "the children of Israel"! (Genesis 49:8; Deuteronomy 29:1) That was the "fold" that Yeshua said would be the "one fold and one shepherd" to which He would bring His "other sheep ... who are not of this fold".

Those "other sheep" are you and me, dear friends! Before Yahuah the Father brought Yeshua back to Heaven to be with Him, He commanded, through Yeshua, His disciples:

19 Go ye ... and teach all nations ... 20 ... to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. (Matthew 28:19 and 20)

Yeshua said: "2 The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat: 3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do!" (Matthew 23:2 and 3) He said, of Moses: "46 He wrote of Me! 47 So, if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe My words?" (John 5:46 and 47)

To believe Yeshua's words was to "not perish, but have everlasting life"! (John 3:16) He said:

God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life! (John 3:16)

So how did God give "His only begotten Son"?

Yeshua said: "17 Therefore doth My Father love Me, because I lay down My life! ... 18 This commandment have I received of My Father!" (John 10:17 and 18)

So why did Yahuah the Father command Yeshua to lay down His life?

When Yeshua had been flogged and killed by His enemies and gloriously resurrected by Yahuah, His Father; Yahuah wrote, through His author: "How much more shall the blood of Christ ... purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?" (Hebrews 9:14)

That is what Yeshua meant, when He said: "Think not that I am come to destroy the law or the prophets: I am not come to destroy but to fulfill!" (Matthew 5:17)

All through Yahuah's Torah He had commanded His children to kill innocent lambs! And He also wrote, through His author, that these "sacrifices ... could not make him who did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience"! (Hebrews 9:9)

Those sacrifices were only a type of what Yeshua would eventually permit His enemies to do to Him; so the sacrifices of Yahuah Hayah's Torah "could not make him who did the service perfect as pertaining to the conscience"!

But affecting "the conscience" of the sinner who brought his "sin offering" (Numbers 15:27) was the purpose of it; and, when Yeshua was made to be "the Lamb of God", the traumatic impact of that wickedness against the innocent Son of God did indeed "make perfect" the "conscience" of "him who did the service" (Hebrews 9:9) to "purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God"! (Hebrews 9:14)

In this way did Yeshua "call ... sinners to repentance" (Matthew 9:13), which, again, was to cause them to "think differently" (Strong: Greek: 3340) about their "transgression of the law"! ((1st John 3:4)

So, whereas Yahuah Hayah's commanding Yeshua to submit to the hands of His wicked enemies was about bringing His children back to keeping, observing, guarding or putting a value on the commandments of His Torah or law, Paul's "faith in His blood to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past" was about Yeshua's "righteousness" somehow forgiving the sins of Yahuah's children without requiring anyone to think differently about breaking the commandments of His Torah but simply to have "faith in His blood … for the remission of sins" (Romans 3:25) thus teaching "a righteousness of God without the law", which appears to be a contradiction to what Yahuah's purpose was in sending His "only begotten Son" to die!

But I will tell you how Yeshua's righteousness did come into the picture; and Paul was right about that! While Yeshua was hanging on the cross, He prayed: "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do!" (Luke 23:34) In doing that, He was fulfilling the prayer that His Father had Him teach His disciples: "Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors!" (Matthew 6:12)

Yeshua had become a man and had the dominion of a man and so could ask the father to forgive anyone he wanted to be forgiven. Yeshua of course was already righteous; because He was "without sin"! Yahuah Hayah wrote, through His author, of Yeshua:

We have not an high priest Who cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin! (Hebrews 4:15)

But, as Yeshua prayed for the forgiveness of His enemies, any of us, His disciples, must also pray for those who have hurt us! because we do need the Father's forgiveness; and that gives us the same righteousness that Yahuah the Father gives us through His Torah! He said, through Yeshua:

44 Love your enemies; bless them who curse you; do good to them who hate you; and pray for them who despitefully use you and persecute you, 45 that ye may be the children of your Father Who is in Heaven! For He maketh His sun to rise, on the good and on the evil, and sendeth rain, on the just and on the unjust! (Matthew 5:44 and 45)

So Paul was not so far off after all in teaching a "the righteousness of God without the law" (Romans 3:21) For in loving our enemies enough to pray for them to be forgiven, Yahuah the Father forgives us; and that gives us His righteousness, so long as we also "observe to do all these commandments before Yahuah, our God"! (Deuteronomy 6:25) For the righteousness He may have given us "without the law" would be made null and void, if at the same time we ignored the righteousness He acknowledges in us for observing to do His commandments! So it takes both! Paul wrote:

As sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign, through righteousness, unto eternal life, by Jesus Christ our Lord! (Romans 5:21)

But he also wrote: "1 Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 God forbid!" (Romans 6:1 and 2) And "sin is the transgression of the law"! (1st John 3:4)

So we are well advised not to join those about whom Peter wrote – "they who, being unlearned and unstable wrest [Paul's letters], as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction"! (2nd Peter 3:16)

With all of that having been thoroughly explained and hopefully understood and believed, let us now get back to our looking at Yeshua's words to "the multitudes ... in ... a mountain" (Matthew 5:1):

21 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment! 22 But I say, unto you, that whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment; and whosoever shall say, to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council! But whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of Hell fire! (Matthew 5:21 and 22)

Was that a "new" commandment?

I believe not. Rather, I believe it was a new understanding of the commandment "Thou shalt not kill" (Exodus 20:13), which Yahuah Hayah had already given through Yeshua through Moses! In one regard after another Yeshua revealed that to think something is as good as doing it; and Yahuah's commandment is there forbidding such sin!

In the instance at which we are looking, to be "angry with his brother without a cause" (Matthew 5:21), to call him "raca" (Verse 21), "empty" or "worthless" (Strong: Greek: 4469), to call him "thou fool" (Matthew 5:21), all of which devastates a neighbor, is to participate in the process by which one does kill another, if not bodily then in self esteem, upon which Yahuah puts through Yeshua a new importance! So He offers through Yeshua the remedy for that problem:

23 If thou bring thy gift to the altar and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee, 24 leave there thy gift, before the altar, and go thy way! First be reconciled to thy brother and then come and offer thy gift. (Matthew 5:23 and 24)

Remember Yeshua's words: "Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God"? (Matthew 5:9)

To "be reconciled to thy brother" (Matthew 5:24) is to "make peace" with him; and the reward for that is to "be called the children of God"! (Matthew 5:9) It is to be regarded as being one of "the children of God", which is a blessed position to be in! And one is well advised to remember that Yahuah Hayah's blessings include "eternal life"! (Matthew 19:16) So Yahuah advised His children, through Yeshua:

25 Agree with thine adversary quickly, while thou art in the way with him, lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, the judge deliver thee to the officer and thou be cast into prison! 26 Verily I say, unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing! (Matthew 5:25 and 26)

Failing to "be reconciled to thy brother" (Matthew 5:24) or neglecting to "make peace' with him "while thou art in the way with him" (Matthew 5:25) carries with it unpleasant consequences, which is why the commandments of Yahuah Hayah's Torah are “for our good always, that He might preserve us alive”! (Deuteronomy 6:24) Here we go with another instance of thinking something being as serious in its effect as doing it:

27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: 28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already, in his heart! (Matthew 5:27 and 28)

So, you men are well advised to consider whom you are visualizing in your erotic imagining. Is it with the woman who is committed to you in marriage or the single woman with whom you would like to be married, or is it with a woman who is committed in marriage to another man? If it is the last woman, stop your vain imagining quickly and repent of it; for in Yahuah Hayah's Torah, "adultery" is a stoning offense! (Leviticus 20:10) Yeshua said:

29 If thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish and not that thy whole body should be cast into Hell! 30 And, if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish and not that thy whole body should be cast into Hell! (Matthew 5:29 and 30)

In another passage, Yeshua made a statement to which His disciples reacted: "This is an hard saying; who can hear it?" (John 6:60) And the above is yet one more of Yeshua's "hard sayings"!

I believe Yeshua was trying to convey the seriousness of doing things that "offend", which is a translation of a word meaning "entrap", "trip up", "stumble" or "entice to sin"! (Strong: Greek: 4624) "Sin is the transgression of the law" (`1st John 3:4); so Yeshua seems to be saying, "If parts of your body are enticing you to transgress Yahuah Hayah's Torah, remove the temptation, lest your sin cause you to end up in Hell, which by His language He strongly suggests that Hell is not a place where anyone would want to be! Now He addresses divorce:

31 It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement! 32 But I say, unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery! And whosoever shall marry her who is divorced committeth adultery. (Matthew 5:31 and 32)

To deal with this topic requires that one understand the term "fornication", which is a translation of a word meaning "harlotry (including adultery and incest)"! (Strong: Greek: 4202)

This teaching by Yeshua has raised up a strict standard that has been difficult for the church to deal with; for what is a poor woman to do who was "put away" without her having committed "fornication", remain single for the rest of her life, when the cause of her being divorced may have been an unjust action against her by a judgmental husband?

On the other side of the ledger, the divorced woman may have been a sore trial for her beleaguered husband, even though she stopped short of committing fornication, in which case, the husband might be consigned to living under this duress indefinitely, for lack of the only ground for divorce allowed by Yahuah Hayah through Yeshua!

Failure to love the partner in marriage by one or the other of the partners together with ignorance of the Holy Spirit's power to bring answers to difficulties when the human dominion is used by "faith in God" (Mark 11:22) are at the root of the problem, in either case; and the aborted marriage with the consequences attending that abortion would perhaps be considered as one more of Yahuah Hayah's "judgments", which "are true and righteous, altogether"! (Psalm 19:9)

Yahuah Hayah's Torah offers help; for an husband's putting away his wife implies discontinuing his support of her; and Yahuah wrote, through Yeshua, through Moses: "10 If he take him another wife; her food, her raiment and her duty of marriage shall he not diminish! 11 And if he do not these three, unto her, then shall she go out free without money!" (Exodus 21:10 and 11)

Yeshua also appears to have overridden Yahuah's commandment through Yeshua through Moses: "When a man hath taken a wife and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favor in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement and give it in her hand and send her out of his house! 2 And, when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man's wife." (Deuteronomy 24:1 and 2)

So "rightly dividing the word of truth" (2nd Timothy 2:15) on some of these issues in Yahuah Hayah's Holy Bible takes some doing! And in some instances the confusion is such that the only resolution is one's seeking Yahuah's voice in his spirit for His will in the particular situation faced by the believer! But, if one is not a believer, confusion in his life is, of course, guaranteed, scripture or no scripture! Yeshua continued:

33 Ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself but shalt perform, unto Yahuah, thine oaths! 34 But I say, unto you, Swear not at all, neither by Heaven; for it is God's throne! 35 Nor by the Earth; for it is His footstool! Neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King! 36 Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black. 37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; or Nay, nay! For whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil! (Matthew 5:33 to 37)

The bottom line of this teaching by Yahuah Hayah through Yeshua is one's recognition that He hates lying! For Yeshua said: "I am the way, the truth and the life! No man cometh unto the Father but by Me!" (John 14:6) With Yeshua's characterizing Himself as being the embodiment of truth, one's knowingly playing with falsehood is to violate the person of Yeshua, Who is "the express image of the person" (Hebrews 1:3) of Yahuah the Father, Who wrote, through Yeshua, through His faithful apostle John:

All liars shall have their part in the lake that burneth with fire and brimstone!(Revelation 21:8)

Yeshua said: "Every one who is of the truth heareth My Voice!" (John 18:37) "Seek, and ye shall find!" (Matthew 7:7) If one is interested in knowing the truth, Yeshua's promise is that Yahuah Hayah's "Spirit of Truth ... will guide you into all truth." (John 16:13) How considerate Yahuah is of us, the children of His whom He loves so much! Yeshua continued:

38 Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth! 39 But I say, unto you, that ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also! 40 And, if any man will sue thee at the law and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also! 41 And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain! 42 Give to him who asketh thee, and from him who would borrow of thee turn not thou away! (Matthew 5:38 to 40)

Peter wrote that Yeshua's practice of this policy even to going to the cross was based on His looking to Yahuah the Father!

21 Hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow His steps! 22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in His mouth: 23 Who, when He was reviled, reviled not again; when He suffered, He threatened not but committed Himself to Him Who judgeth righteously! (1st Peter 2:21 to 23)

So the one who practices leaving all judgment "to Him Who judgeth righteously", Who of course would be Yahuah the Father, does not abandon all hope of justice, he simply leaves its administration in the hands of Him Who, "knoweth the hearts" (Acts 15:8) and is therefore competent to do the judging righteously! In the meanwhile, His children practicing His ministry of the cross or loving one's enemy may well have saved a few of His children who were practicing enmity, for which selfless ministry He rewards His children abundantly! Yeshua continued:

43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbor and hate thine enemy! 44 But I say, unto you, Love your enemies, bless them who curse you, do good to them who hate you and pray for them who despitefully use you and persecute you, 45 that ye may be the children of your Father Who is in Heaven! For He maketh His sun to rise, on the good and on the evil, and sendeth rain, on the just and on the unjust! 46 For, if ye love them who love you, what reward have ye? Do not even the publicans the same? 47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? Do not even the publicans so? 48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father Who is in Heaven is perfect. (Matthew 5:43 to 48)

Having dealt extensively with the importance of loving one's enemy, I do not believe more comment is necessary, here! But I believe that it would be helpful if I deal with the matter of Yeshua's commanding Yahuah the Father's children to "be ... perfect" even as He is. He also said: "With men this is impossible! But with God all things are possible." (Matthew 19:26)

Why is that?

It is because of the "dominion" that Yahuah Hayah has given each and every one of His children "over every living thing that moveth upon the Earth"! (Genesis 1:28) Ourselves are included in that broad spectrum of power by ha Kodesh (the Holy) Ruach (Spirit); and we can say to ourselves: "Be ye perfect, even as your Father Who is in Heaven is perfect"; we can receive it as done and begin rejoicing that it is done; and we can watch the power of Yahuah do His amazing work in our behalf!

You might wonder how this ministry manages to function in a world where a price is demanded for virtually everything that one needs! Faith Harvest Israel is a faith-based ministry, which relies entirely on the tithes and offerings of people like you, who appreciate what we are doing and make themselves a part of the ministry through their tithes and offerings! If you are one of those people whom Yahuah Hayah has led to be a part of this ministry, address your check or money order to "enterhiscovenant.com" and send it to 18627 Brookhurst St. 557, Fountain Valley, California 92708; and Yahuah will bless you for it.

The Giver of words and the life He gives along with them bless you richly throughout this coming week! Amen!

Amen! Alleluia!
