Yeshua's Ministry

Hi! I'm Pastor Floyd! I wish I had a photograph of you, too, so that I could visualize to whom I am talking! But Yahuah Hayah, the Self-Existent, Eternal I AM, the Creator of all and King over it, knows who you are; and that's all that matters!

Welcome to our friends all over the world! Whoever you are, whatever time of day it is for you, the amazing and wonderful thing is that we are together for this hour, fulfilling Yahuah's prophecy through Yeshua:

This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come! (Matthew 24:14)

We have been making our way through Yahuah Hayah's teaching through Yeshua to His "disciples" and "the multitudes ... in a mountain"! (Matthew 5:1) So Yeshua said:

1 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them! Otherwise ye have no reward of your Father Who is in Heaven! 2 Therefore, when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet, before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 3 But, when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth, 4 that thine alms may be in secret! And thy Father, Who seeth in secret, Himself shall reward thee openly! (Matthew 6:1 to 4)

What is Yahuah Hayah's problem with doing "alms before men ... that they may have glory of men"? And what is the "reward" that Yeshua said that such alms givers would receive?

Well, if "men" are the ones to whom the "alms" giver is looking for "glory" and "reward", his "glory" and "reward" is limited by what men have to give! And, since men are created beings the same as the "alms" giver, that "glory" and that "reward" cannot amount to much, since as created beings, they are dependent upon the same Source as the "alms" giver!

Yahuah Hayah wants us to understand that the "alms" giver should seek his Creator's "glory" and "reward", keeping in mind that the one for whom the "alms" are intended is that Creator's child! Yahuah has both "glory" and "reward" in abundance to give to the "alms" giver, as well as His love and appreciation for the poor child's being blessed by the "alms".

This involves the basic flaw that exists in the thinking of so many of Yahuah Hayah's children that seeking the approval and rewards of neighbors is a worthwhile endeavor while ignoring the approval and rewards of our Creator, which He gives to those who conduct their affairs according to His will for them. Yeshua said:

21 Not every one who saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of Heaven but he who doeth the will of My Father Who is in Heaven! 22 In that day many will say, to Me, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Thy name? and in Thy name have cast out devils? and in Thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess, unto them, I never knew you: depart, from Me, ye who work iniquity! (Matthew 7:21 to 23)

Not doing the will of our "Father Who is in Heaven" Yeshua called "iniquity"! This warning is for those who, having mastered the use of their "dominion" (Genesis 1:28) and done "many wonderful works", have used it for purposes not in accord with the Father's will, this being a sure way to get into trouble with Him. Yeshua then launched into some interesting and helpful guidance concerning prayer:

5 When thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men! Verily I say, unto you, They have their reward! 6 But, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet! And, when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father Who is in secret; and thy Father, Who seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly! (Matthew 6:5 and 6)

This commandment follows a reasoning similar to that which Yeshua gave concerning the giving of "alms" and involves the same difference between seeking the approval and reward of men versus those of Yahuah the Father! So I believe the advice is clear enough for most anyone to understand! Yeshua said:

Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. (Matthew 6:33)

Yeshua then continued His advice concerning prayer:

7 When ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. 8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of before ye ask Him. (Matthew 6:7 and 8)

Yeshua as much as said: "Quit making your requests of Yahuah Hayah over and over! He's not hard of hearing! He hears you the first time you say it; and that is all He needs!"

I have been in prayer meetings, especially as a young boy, where the same things were said over and over! And, if that practice bothered me; I am sure it bothered Yahuah the Father even more! Yeshua then gave, to His disciples and the multitude, His sample prayer, which is precious! I recite it every morning!

9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father Who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name! 10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, in Earth, as it is in Heaven! 11 Give us this day our daily bread! 12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors! 13 Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil! For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory for ever! Amen! (Matthew 6:9 to 13)

Now let's take that line by line and squeeze all the wisdom out of it that we can!

"Our Father Who art in Heaven," (Matthew 6:9)

Yeshua begins His prayer acknowledging Yahuah the Father and where He is! We have already studied: "Swear ... neither by Heaven; for it is God's throne!" (Matthew 5:34) Now back to the prayer:

"Hallowed be Thy name!" (Matthew 6:9)

Through their advertising, the manufacturers of products or the providers of services try to develop in the minds of people a favorable impression of each product or service they are trying to sell! And they do that by associating with the name they have given to their product or service as many pleasant associations as they can!

The question is sometimes asked, what's in a name? And the answer is: whatever people have associated with it, whether for good or for evil! People can either recommend a product or a service company; or they can spread a bad report of their experience with it; and its success or failure depends much upon the reports that people do give of it; so companies go to a lot of trouble and expense to protect the name of their product or service!

Yahuah Hayah and each one of us, His children, are much the same! We have the need to "sell" ourselves, to develop in the minds of our neighbors the idea that we are an advantage or a blessing to them; because, if we have allowed our name to carry with it a "bad reputation", we meet rejection from people we would like to have accept us and do business with us.

Howard Storm tells us that Yahuah Hayah loves us, His precious children, "passionately"! which means that He earnestly wants the best experience possible for each of us; so He works to that end, which involves selling Himself to us; because, if we have accepted the lies of Satan to blaspheme God, we can, as some people I know do, go around spreading the same lies about the Creator Who is giving them the breath of life! So it is, indeed, a good thing to "hallow" His name!

"Thy kingdom come! Thy will be done in Earth, as it is in Heaven!" (Matthew 6:9)

Those two statements are best considered together for they are "two sides of a coin", if you will; the one cannot be considered without the other! For Yahuah Hayah's "kingdom" is where His "will" is done; and the prayer expresses our desire that Earth share the blessings involved in that "will" for those who are doing what He wills for them, which is the way things are in Heaven! A few minutes ago we studied what He said through Yeshua happens when His children fail to do His will, Yeshua's saying:

I never knew you: depart, from Me, ye who work iniquity! (Matthew 7:23)

"Give us this day our daily bread." (Matthew 6:11)

This request acknowledges from where our "daily bread" comes! If we are told to ask "our Father Who art in Heaven" for it and if this word is true, He is the Provider of that "bread". For the sake of avoiding "repetition", as He said, Yeshua uses "our daily bread" to represent all of our needs; and He advised that we ask for them, "this day", which is why I pray that prayer each and every morning, believing that, although He does not like "vain repetition", Yahuah the Father does want to hear from us each and every day, demonstrating that each day we are mindful of Him and grateful to Him for all of the life that He continues to provide for us. And for those of us who find communing with Yahuah the Father in our spirit to be such a joyous privilege, He hears from us virtually every moment of the day!

"Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors!" (Matthew 6:12)

This part of Yeshua's sample prayer settles, for me, once and for all time, the question of what provides our eternal salvation, along with two other considerations that are equally relevant to that question. Because of its critical importance, Yeshua repeats this part of the prayer for needed emphasis:

14 if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you! 15 But, if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. (Matthew 6:14 and 15)

He also said:

Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. (Matthew 5:7)

Give, and it shall be given unto you. (Luke 6:38)

Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do! (Luke 23:34)

If we are "forgiven", Yahuah Hayah looks on us as being "righteous"! He wrote, through Yeshua, through His faithful apostle John:

The marriage of the Lamb is come, and His wife hath made herself ready! 8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white! For the fine linen is the righteousness of saints! (Revelation 19:7 and 8)

And Yeshua made it clear that "righteousness" (Matthew 5:20) is a key to one's entering "into the kingdom of Heaven"! (Verse 20) He said:

Except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of Heaven! (Matthew 5:20)

The third consideration for salvation is found in Yahuah Hayah's Torah! He said, through Yeshua, through Moses:

1 If thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of Yahuah, thy God, to observe and to do all His commandments ... 2 ... all these blessings shall come on thee and overtake thee. (Deuteronomy 28:1 and 2)

Yeshua said:

If thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments! (Matthew 19:17)

He made that statement in answer to the question, "What good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?" (Matthew 19:16)

So we know that, when Yahuah Hayah spoke through Yeshua through Moses of His "life", He was talking about His eternal life. He said:

I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing! Therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live! (Deuteronomy 30:19)

In that instance, because Yahuah Hayah's "life" is eternal, He was actually saying, "choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live for ever"! And that eternal life He offers to those who "hearken diligently unto the voice of Yahuah, thy God, to observe to do all His commandments"! (Deuteronomy 28:1)

Paul pointed out that "all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God"! (Romans 3:23) Indeed! And some people try to argue that, because that is true, no one can "observe to do all" Yahuah Hayah's "commandments'; but that argument simply reveals a lack of understanding concerning the words "keep" and "observe"! Yahuah said, through Yeshua, through Moses:

5 I, Yahuah, thy God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them who hate Me 6 and showing mercy unto thousands of them who love Me and keep My commandments! (Exodus 20:5 and 6)

So we have both "keep" and "observe" used in Yahuah Hayah's pleas for His children's cooperation; and both of them are translations of words meaning to "guard", whether in the Old Testament (Strong: Hebrew: 8104) or the New Testament (Strong: Greek; 5083). So never has He asked us, His beloved children to perfectly obey "all His commandments"! Rather, He has asked that we "guard" or put a value on them. Which would cause us to give them our best effort! And that can be done in a heartbeat!

If we value someone who is reasonable, where do you suppose that reasonableness comes from? Did Yahuah Hayah not make us "in His own image"? (Genesis 1:27) He is the Author of our being reasonable.

So, where we find someone being unreasonable or fixed on some harmful idea no matter what anyone says, we know we are talking to a neighbor who for whatever reason has stopped listening to his Creator's voice in his spirit and gone, instead, to following the myriad of other voices that are always there to "offend" us or "entice" us "to sin"!

We have been studying the sample prayer that Yahuah the Father gave His disciples through Yeshua; and we got so far as "forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors"! (Matthew 6:12); and that involved quite a number of interesting consideration! But now we go to, "Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil!" (Verse 13) And that gives rise to an interesting question: Why do we need to ask our Father in Heaven not to lead us "into temptation but deliver us from evil?"

Well, the truth is that allowing Satan to tempt His children apparently was Yahuah Hayah's will! John wrote:

1 I saw an angel come down from Heaven, having the key of the Bottomless Pit and a great chain in his hand. 2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil and Satan, and bound him a thousand years 3 and cast him into the bottomless pit and shut him up and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled! And after that he must be loosed a little season! (Revelation 20:1 to 3)

If Yahuah Hayah wanted His children to be sheltered from being deceived, He could have had an angel do that in the first place; and what is this that John wrote: "After that he must be loosed a little season!"?

Apparently, a generation of Yahuah Hayah's children will come along who will not have known Satan's temptation; and Yahuah has provided that they not be judged, until they have had a chance to show to whose voice they will hearken - that of Yahuah or that of Satan through all the thousands of servants he has all around the world, both in flesh and in spirit!

So, indeed, when we get, as did I forty-two years ago, fed up with the problems that arise for those who are listening to the wrong voice, we come to a place where we are ready to pray to our Father in Heaven with the utmost urgency: "Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil"! And we ask that, of Him , having somehow become convinced that "Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, for ever" (Matthew 6:13), which is why "this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations" before “the end come”! (Matthew 24:14)

Being the reasonable God that we considered earlier, Yahuah Hayah wants no one to be without the knowledge that He, the Creator of all and the King over it, has "the kingdom and the power and the glory" by which to deal with any problem that can confront us, to where we can, with the utmost confidence, appreciate the psalmist's words who wrote:

1 Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity! 2 For they shall soon be cut down, like the grass, and wither, as the green herb! 3 Trust in Yahuah and do good! So shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. 4 Delight thyself in Yahuah! And He shall give thee the desires of thine heart. 5 Commit thy way unto Yahuah; trust in Him; and he shall bring it to pass! 6 He shall bring forth thy righteousness, as the light, and thy judgment, as the noonday! 7 Rest in Yahuah and wait patiently for Him: Fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. 8 Cease from anger and forsake wrath! Fret not thyself, in any wise, to do evil! 9 For evildoers shall be cut off! But those who wait upon Yahuah, they shall inherit the Earth! (Psalm 37:1 to 9)

Well! We could quit there and believe we had a full meal! But we have some more time to go; so let's have some dessert! Yeshua said: "The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life!" (John 6:63) Are you beginning to appreciate how true that is? When He declared what His words are, He knew that when He spoke them , ha Kodesh (the Holy) Ruach (Spirit) was obliged to fulfill them. That is why Yeshua's words are "spirit"! They cause the Spirit of God to move in His behalf!

But how about Yeshua's words being "life"? How does that work?

Yeshua said, of Moses: "He wrote of Me!" For as "the Word" (John 1:1), Who was "In the beginning" (Verse 1), Yeshua has ever been the one who could say "All things that the Father hath are Mine!" (John 16:15) Yahuah Hayah said, through Yeshua, through Moses:

If ye will obey My voice indeed and keep My covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto Me above all people! For all the Earth is Mine! (Exodus 19:5)

Well, why stop with "the Earth"? Why isn't all of creation the possession of Yahuah Hayah? Should not what one has created be his? Paul wrote:

There is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by Him! (1st Corinthians 8:6)

One may as well recognize that whatever "life" exists, it was by Yeshua's speaking it with His "Word" (John 1:1) from out of "all things that the Father hath', which Yeshua said "are Mine'! (John 16:15) In other words Yeshua has always had, in His spirit the image of "all things" that originate with the Father but are transmitted to Yeshua to speak into existence, which of course would include His "life"!

So the words that Yeshua speaks unto us are, indeed, "life"! Yet only God knows how many people have turned a deaf ear to those priceless words, to listen to the words of lying devils, who of course are the servants of Satan, whom Yeshua defined as "a liar"! (John 8:44) John defined as him as one "who deceiveth the whole world"! (Revelation 12:9)

This happens! And I know that it does; because I was there and did that for the first thirty years of my adult life! Having learned differently, I of course am ashamed of my rebellion against the One Who created me; but that gets down to the heart of what saves us: Yeshua said, "I am ... come to call ... sinners to repentance" (Matthew 9:13), which means to "think differently" (Strong: Greek: 3340) about transgressing Yahuah's Torah; because "sin is the transgression of the law"! (1st John 3:4)

Paul wrote: "I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet!" (Romans 7:7)

I was alive without the law once: but, when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died! 10 And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death! (Romans 7:9)

Poor Paul, he didn't know about the words "keep" and "observe", which are translations of words meaning to "guard" (Strong: Hebrew: 8104; Greek: 5083) or put a value on. If he had known what those words meant, he could have put on Yahuah Hayah's commandments the value of which they are worthy, leaving His judgments, which "are true and righteous, altogether' (Psalm 19:9), to deal with our inability to obey Yahuah's commandments perfectly!

But Yahuah Hayah's "blessings" (Deuteronomy 28:2) are for those who "shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of Yahuah, thy God, to observe [or put a value on] to do all His commandments"! And who is willing to argue that a blessed man is on his way to Hell?

As for anyone's being "alive without the law", when was Yahuah Hayah ever not alive with His Torah in place, which is simply His expression of the nature of Himself, according to which He does all things?

Some years ago an evangelist was taken to Heaven and allowed to meet Paul, so we can know that his heart was in the right place, even though, as Peter explained, he wrote things "hard to be understood"! (2nd Peter 3:16)

What makes something "hard to be understood"?

I submit that the major cause of misunderstanding something is that the thing said is contrary to other things that are known to be different, thus creating a conflict! And Paul's writings are full of such conflicts, which I am not going to burden you with, my dear friends; you can read him for yourselves! It is Yeshua's words that are "spirit" and "life" upon which I choose to dwell; I know of no other words that are worthy of my attention! Even the writings of "the prophets" are the result of Yeshua's having spoken to them in behalf of Yahuah the Father! Yeshua was, is and ever shall be Yahuah's "Word"! (John 1:1) Yeshua said: "Before Abraham was, I AM!" (John 8:58)

Having given His sample prayer to His disciples and "the multitudes ... in a mountain", Yeshua then addressed the practice of fasting!

16 When ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say, unto you, They have their reward! 17 But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head and wash thy face, 18 that thou appear not unto men to fast but unto thy Father, Who is in secret! And thy Father, Who seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly! (Matthew 6:16 to 18)

This again deals with one's looking in the wrong place for his reward! "Men" are not our source! Yahuah Hayah is our Source - our Father in Heaven! But He sometimes uses "men" as a channel for His blessing; He said, through Yeshua:

Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over shall men give into your bosom! (Luke 6:38)

Even though the favor Yahuah Hayah gives us with men sometimes blesses us well, we dare not lose sight of Him as the One behind that favor in our behalf, when we have pleased Him through our obedience to Him.

A hint of why fasting is beneficial is found in Yeshua's answer to disciples asking Him why they could not cast out the demon in a certain boy! He said: "20 Because of your unbelief! For verily I say, unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove! And nothing shall be impossible unto you. 21 Howbeit, this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting!" (Matthew 17:20 and 21)

The human "dominion ... over every living thing that moveth upon the Earth" (Genesis 1:28) is powerful with "faith" even so small "as a grain of mustard seed"; and it explains the true working of prayer! But, when one is up against a matter involving demonic interference, fasting while praying adds to it an additional effectiveness that overturns Satan's strongholds! It seems that eating, which is a physical activity, is distracting to one's trying to focus on a spiritual need, especially when that need involves getting Satan out of the way!

Yeshua's next topic on the mountain was "laying up treasure"! He didn't have a problem with that; but He did show a big difference in where one lays it up; He said:

19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon Earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt and where thieves break through and steal! 20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in Heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also! (Matthew 6:19 to 21)

Yeshua offered two points of wisdom, in that instruction: 1 Treasure in Heaven is preferable; and 2 treasure captivates the focus of one's spirit! So, if one's treasure is on Earth, his spirit will be involved with earthly considerations, while one's treasure in Heaven elevates his vision to heavenly considerations.

But how do we "lay up for ourselves treasures in Heaven"?

Yeshua told a "young man" (Matthew 19:20): "If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in Heaven!" (Verse 21) So "treasure in Heaven" is not what one has stored up for himself, "where moth and rust doth corrupt and where thieves break through and steal", but, rather, what one has given away "to the poor", who are Yahuah Hayah's beloved children, the credit for which He stores up in Heaven for the reward of His merciful child, who has taken pity on the poor! He wrote, through His psalmist:

1 Blessed is he who considereth the poor! Yahuah will deliver him, in time of trouble. 2 Yahuah will preserve him and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the Earth: and Yahuah wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies! 3 Yahuah will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: Yahuah wilt make all his bed in his sickness. (Psalm 41:1 to 3)

Nowhere in Yahuah Hayah's Holy Bible can one find Him asking His children to give what they do not have! And part of what we do not have is what we have committed ourselves to pay or the obligation we have to provide for our families! Paul wrote:

If any provide not for his own and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith and is worse than an infidel! (1st Timothy 5:8)

"Treasure in Heaven" being a desirable thing, I believe it includes all that we do in the way of caring for others and not necessarily for "the poor"! For all people are Yahuah Hayah's children; loving them is an obedience to His "First and Great Commandment" (Matthew 22:38), which is also loving Him; and His reward is ever there to bless those who obey Him.

Yeshua's next topic "on the mountain" related to the relationship between "light" and "righteousness"!

22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light! 23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness! If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness! (Matthew 6:22 and 23)

Since an eye that is not "full of light" is "evil", we can assume that the eye that is "full of light" is righteous! And Yahuah Hayah said, through Yeshua, through Moses: "It shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments!" (Deuteronomy 6:25) "Observe" is a translation of a word that means to "guard"; so putting a value on Yahuah's commandments He regards as one's eye being "full of light", the opposite being true of the evil eye that brings only darkness into one's body and presumably one's life!

Yahuah said, through Yeshua, through Moses: "Choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live!" (Deuteronomy 30:19) So choosing to "hearken diligently unto the voice of Yahuah, thy God, to observe and to do all His commandments" (Deuteronomy 28:1) is to open one up to the light of His wisdom concerning His will for us, His beloved children, one's refusal to hearken to Yahuah's voice being to shut out that light and live in darkness concerning what our beloved Creator and King wants from us; and in Yeshua's explaining that truth, He pointed out that the darkness coming of the choice to be evil and ignore His voice is "great" indeed!
