Hi! I'm Pastor Floyd! I wish I had a photograph of you, too, so that I could visualize to whom I am talking! But Yahuah Hayah, the Self-Existent, Eternal I AM, the Creator of all and King over it, knows who you are; and that's all that matters!
Welcome to our friends all over the world! Whoever you are, whatever time of day it is for you, the amazing and wonderful thing is that we are together for this hour, fulfilling Yahuah's prophecy through Yeshua:
Let us pray:
Last week we were moving through Matthew's Gospel; and here is where we left off:
Interestingly, many of Yahuah Hayah's beloved children believe that they are indeed above their "master" and "lord" in being above Him Who created them and able, presumably, to make decisions apart from Him and come out effectively dealing with the lives that He has given them on Earth! But that course of action is plagued with problems that guarantee failure rather than fulfillment and a world of frustration! So not being "above" one's "master" or "lord" is wisdom indeed; and one is well advised to heed it.
On the other hand, being "as" one's master or lord is highly advisable, so long as the similarity does not enter into the presumptuousness of replacing the master or lord. Yahuah Hayah wants His children to be like Him; He said, through Yeshua: "Be ye ... perfect, even as your Father Who is in Heaven is perfect." (Matthew 5:48)
Some people cannot absorb the idea of being "perfect" even as God is perfect and so try to argue that that the word being translated means “in the process of becoming perfect”; but Yahuah Hayah has never been in any such process; He is "I AM", which is all that is, has been or ever will be. He is, indeed, "perfect"; and what the people who stumble over His commandment to "be … perfect" do not realize is that "with men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible" (Matthew 19:26), His making things perfect for His beloved children being possible through their use of the dominion that He has given them.
The word translated "perfect" actually means "complete"! (Strong: Greek: 5046) And for that to apply to Yahuah Hayah, it may as well mean "perfectly complete"; for in Him there are no halfway measures! He said: "Because thou art lukewarm and neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee out of My mouth!" (Revelation 3:16) So how does one achieve the perfection He wants for His beloved children?
The example given by Yeshua for one's use of his dominion begins with His commanding: "Have faith in God"! And it involves saying to a "mountain" (Mark 11:23), that it be "removed and cast into the sea"! (Verse 23) I believe He picked an impossible assignment for the mountain to illustrate how the human dominion can tackle anything to which we want to put it; because, obviously, it is expedited by ha Kodesh (the Holy) Ruach (Spirit); and what is impossible for the Spirit Who created all things and is maintaining them to this day?
So, when we say to ourselves: "Be ye perfect!", Yahuah Hayah recreates us in that perfection and lodges it in His Holy Spirit, to where, if you "believe ye receive, ye shall have it" (Mark 11:24), including the perfection for which you have asked!
Don't ask me how that is accomplished; I am not God! But, when He explained His dominion through Yeshua, He talked about moving mountains; and He did not place any limitation on what the dominion He has given us is capable of achieving! So I have said, to myself, "Be ye ... perfect, even as your Father Who is in Heaven is perfect" (Matthew 5:48); by my "faith in God" I have believed that I have received that perfection; and I walk in the expectancy that such a perfection is being accomplished in me each moment of my day! And, do you know what? Each of my days is perfect for me!
I don't care what may seem to be going wrong; it never fails that, if I never lose sight of the perfection I have spoken for myself, the wrong becomes right, in due time; and I go my way rejoicing! If you doubt that fact, that is your problem, not mind! I have believed that I have received the perfection for which I have asked; and I walk in that confidence, no matter what is going on. As they say: "Try it; you might like it." Yeshua continued:
I liken the "darkness" in which Yahuah Hayah tells me things to what happens in my spirit, where obviously nothing is shining, such as the sun, which lightens everything around us, which is where He wants me to speak what He has told me.
Similarly, I believe that what Yahuah Hayah tells us is in our "inner ear", where we hear what is going on in our spirit, whether alone or with His Holy Bible before us! And that is what He has commanded us to "preach … upon the housetops" or out loud in whatever audience we find ourselves. He wants knowledge of Himself to be communicated to as many of His beloved children as possible! He wrote, through His prophet:
How do we obtain that "knowledge"? By "the word of Yahuah"! He said, through Yeshua: "The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life!" (John 6:63) And He wants that "spirit" and "life" for all His beloved children! Yeshua continued:
By the testimonies of two different witnesses who have been to Hell, I believe that the destruction of "soul and body in Hell" to which Yeshua made reference is the ineffectiveness of one who finds himself in Hell. He is powerless to do a single thing other than join in the hatefulness of those who have found themselves in a place where Yahuah Hayah's light and love are absent! It is a horrible place to be in; but it is where He puts those of us who have denied Him and the goodness of which He is the Source!
How infinitely foolish that is; yet millions of us are locked into that mindset! And I was there, for thirty years of my adult life; so do not try to tell me that such an attitude is unlikely! Yeshua continued:
That is a wonderful assurance, the pitiful part of it being that it is only accepted as real or true by those who have hearkened to the voice of Yahuah Hayah, to keep, observe, guard or put a value on the commandments of His Torah or law! He said, through Yeshua: "I am the way, the truth and the life!" (John 14:6) All others are locked into spirits and the servants of spirits who are committed to serving Satan, who "is a liar and the father of it". (John 8:44) To summarize, Yeshua said:
The longer one walks as a servant of Yahuah Hayah, the Creator of all, the king over it and the giver of the breath of life to all of us, His beloved children, the clearer it becomes that no Mr. Inbetween exists with Him. One is either for Him or against Him, either confessing Him or denying Him; and to deny Yeshua and Whom He revealed Himself to be is, in no uncertain terms, to court disaster!
No middle ground exists, with Yahuah Hayah! If you are "lukewarm" (Revelation 3:16), He will not only "spew you" out of His "mouth" (Verse 16), He will relegate you to the abyss where He puts all who fail to love Him out of a grateful heart, which includes loving His "Word" (John 1:1) and "only begotten Son'! (John 3:16) He and Yeshua have done Their part; and it remains for Yahuah's child to do his part; and we either do it or He puts us where the careless and indifferent spend their eternity! It is called "Hell"; and it is where His love and light are not, which is why it is called "Hell". Yeshua continued:
This is another of what Yeshua's disciples called an "hard saying"! (John 6:60) It is interesting to note that, among other things, He is a master of exaggeration! For, obviously, His purpose was to save as many of Yahuah Hayah's beloved children as He could! But He realized that in this loving process He would in fact be making enemies, as does anyone who tries to follow His teachings! And so "a sword" would follow in His steps, which would put in question the song of the angels who sang at His birth: "Glory to God in the highest, and on Earth peace, good will toward men!" (Luke 2:14)
No sooner did Yeshua voice this warning, that "a man’s foes shall be they of his own household" than did He proceed to reenforce it with statements making it abundantly clear that following Him is not for the "faint of heart"! And one of the tests that would try the strength of one's heart and show one's worthiness of Him would be whose voice a person would hearken to, Yeshua's or those of "father or mother" or of "son or daughter"!
To hold to such choices in favor of Yeshua would undoubtedly cause one to be crucified or at least persecuted; so He said, "He who taketh not his cross and followeth after Me is not worthy of Me." The failure to show such amazing dedication in an effort to "find" one's "life" would be only to "lose it', in the heart-wrenching judgment that comes upon such efforts, the only sure way to "find it" being to "lose his life" for Yeshua's sake by the sacrificial life He asks His disciples to lead!
Yeshua's ultimate form of self sacrifice was of course to lay down His life by submitting to the wicked hands of those who wanted Him dead! But He gave examples of conduct that would partake of laying down one's life, even though it would be short of dying! He said:
I have been told that in learning to fly a plane one must know how to deal with its spiraling toward the ground! The tendency is to pull back on the joy stick, to try to pull out of the spiral; but that only tightens the spiral; so exactly the opposite is necessary. Pushing forward on the joy stick puts the plane in a straight path toward the ground, from which the pilot can gently pull it up into straight flight!
This is an excellent illustration of the sacrificial living that is recommended by Yahuah Hayah for all His children! The tendency is to "pull back", to refuse help where it is asked, in the fear that too much generosity will bankrupt us, both as to time and money! But, as with the spiraling plane, exactly the opposite is needed. The more help we render, the more blessed we get; and our life smooths out into a path we can manage well!
The same is true in our reacting to abuse! Returning violence for violence only escalates the situation and makes it much worse, whereas returning good for evil smooths out the situation making it manageable and correctable, which is what Yahuah Hayah wants for His beloved children!
Each night, I eat my supper on a couch in our living room, where my wife lives and spends most of her time watching television! So I get an eyeful of the programming sponsored by the companies of the world, which cater to the appetites of television viewers countrywide! And the programming is full of violence, the remedy for virtually every abusive situation being shown as shooting or hitting back at the abuser, which of course is the last thing that Yahuah Hayah would have His beloved children doing!
Yeshua's statements about how to react to one's neighbors, their needs and their behavior are quite clear, requiring that one set aside his own "life" in loving consideration for the lives of those around him, accommodating each neighbor as best he can, when the neighbor asks for it; and turning the other cheek when the neighbor has struck us.
Whether the neighbor is well liked or full of enmity makes no difference, in Yahuah Hayah's economy; the neighbor is one of His beloved children; and Yeshua will be saying: "Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these, My brethren, ye have done it unto Me!" (Matthew 25:40) Yeshua then continued:
Yeshua was an authority on how His Father thinks and acts! And He has given us the benefit of that wisdom. Paul wrote, of God:
Yahuah Hayah wrote, through Solomon:
So we are well advised to pay attention to what Yeshua taught; and that is exactly what we are doing in this study! Alleluia! And I dare say we are working diligently to “get understanding”, while we are at it. Matthew's account continued:
John the Baptist was well loved, by Yahuah Hayah; so Matthew wrote of Yeshua's honoring him:
What Yeshua said about John's being greater than all "who are born of women" is remarkable enough; but, when He added to that remarkable statement the astounding one that "he who is least in the kingdom of Heaven is greater than" John, He leaves one speechless! Needless to say, that puts a premium on entering "into the kingdom of Heaven"! (Matthew 5:20) And that premium surpasses understanding! So how does one “enter into the kingdom of Heaven”?
Yahuah Hayah said, through Yeshua, through Moses: "It shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before Yahuah, our God!" (Deuteronomy 6:25) And Yeshua made it clear that one must have "righteousness" to "enter into the kingdom of Heaven'. (Matthew 5:20) So observing to do the commandments of Yahuah's Torah is how one makes that entrance!
Please take note that the word translated "observe" means to "guard" (Strong: Hebrew: 8104) keep or put a value on; so one's performance in doing "all these commandments before Yahuah" is not His primary concern! It is one's attitude toward the doing. Having created us, He knew we would never do His commandments perfectly; He deals with that by His judgments, which "are true and righteous, altogether"! (Psalm 19:9) But how He deals with our regard for doing the commandments of His Torah relates to his accepting or barring His children from His kingdom in Heaven, which He reserves for those who love Him with hearts full of gratitude for the life He has given them in the midst of His awesome creation, providing Hell for those whose hearts have somehow turned to stone against Him.
Even that eventuality has not completely stymied Yahuah Hayah; He wrote, through His prophet: "I will take the stony heart out of their flesh and will give them an heart of flesh!" (Ezekiel 11:19) Howard Storm wrote:
Yeshua continued His discourse on John:
What Yeshua meant by "the kingdom of Heaven suffereth violence" has always been difficult for me to understand, unless I allow that He regarded the response of His children to John the Baptist's teaching to be "violent" in the best possible sense! In other words, in other words, whipped by John's preaching into a frenzy of desire to "enter into the kingdom of Heaven"!
John apparently had a way of preaching that made people want to enter Yahuah Hayah's kingdom so passionately that they took it "by force'! As for John's being "Elijah", Yeshua's reference to Elijah's coming is based upon Yahuah Hayah's word through His prophet:
We have not yet witnessed Yeshua's coming with a sword in His mouth "that with it He should smite the nations"! (Revelation 19:15) But that ushers in "the coming of the great and dreadful Day of Yahuah", before which Yeshua "shall rule them with a rod of iron", treading "the wine press of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God"! (Verse 15) And, with John the Baptist's being regarded by Yeshua as the "Elijah who was to come", that coming was indeed "before ... the great and dreadful Day of Yahuah", like two thousand years before. In the midst of His giving John the Baptist His glowing regard, Yeshua then addressed the generation of children to whom Yahuah Hayah had sent Him:
Having described all that lamentable and deaf-eared misconduct by "this generation", Yeshua concludes with His authoritative summation: "Wisdom is justified of her children!". Yeshua "is made, unto us, wisdom"! (1st Corinthians 1:30) So, if we are wise by our receiving of His words of wisdom, we behave in a way that justifies wisdom or shows its superior effectiveness to fulfill Yahuah Hayah's marvelous will for us.
Strong's Definition of the word translated "wisdom" is, simply, "wisdom"! (Greek: 4678) So that is no help to us in trying to understand it; so I went to my online Merriam-Webster Dictionary and got this precise and helpful definition: The “ability to discern inner qualities and relationships”! And to me that is meaningful!
In other words, "wisdom" is the ability to see what is not immediately evident on the surface of things by seeing how a number things relate to each other; and that is the skill of one who has experienced many things and noticed carefully how they affect one another. It is why gray hair is associated with wisdom; and it is the unique understanding of Yahuah Hayah, Who has created all things and determined how they relate to each other.
So, if you want wisdom, we are doing, right here and now, exactly the wise thing, which is to go to the Source of things and of their relationships and let Him tell us about them. Yeshua continued, in Matthew's excellent recording of all this:
"The Day of Judgment" is described in the vision that Yahuah Hayah gave through Yeshua to His faithful apostle John! But He wrote first of interesting events that will precede "the Day of Judgment":
"The Thousand Years" is the period of time during which "the saints" among Yahuah Hayah's children will reign with Yeshua over the children of Yahuah's who have failed to love Him and keep the commandments of His Torah, as have the "saints'! He promised, through Yeshua, through John, concerning them:
The "saints" will wear white robes; and of Yeshua and the saints, John wrote:
With the "fine linen, clean and white" denoting "the righteousness of saints', we must never forget what Yahuah Hayah wrote, through Yeshua, through Moses: "It shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before Yahuah, our God!" (Deuteronomy 6:25) And "observe" means to keep, guard or put a value on whatever one is observing! (Strong; Hebrew: 8104; Greek: 5083) So the white robe will show that the one wearing it has indeed observed "to do all these commandments”! John wrote more about "the thousand years":
John's statement "this is the First Resurrection" helps us to realize that a resurrection will be involved with the saints whom he saw in his vision, who "lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years", all of this being what he saw of a future time that we have not yet seen! And we can readily see that Yeshua spoke of this resurrection, by saying:
So two resurrections are due at some time; and that time has been prophesied by Yahuah Hayah through Yeshua through His faithful apostle John, the First Resurrection's being that "of Life" in behalf of those who "lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years" - more correctly "who will live and reign with Christ a thousand years"; and I dare say that resurrection will include far more than those "who were beheaded for the witness of Jesus", its being for all "who will live and reign with Christ a thousand years"; and that includes all "who have done good"; and that includes you and me, right?
"The Day of Judgment" (Matthew 11:24) is Yahuah Hayah's time of final judgment on His beloved children; He will have reached the end of His patience, by then; what His beloved children will have chosen to do about Him will have been made abundantly clear! So Yahuah Hayah wrote, through Yeshua, through John:
As judgment goes, that is about as "final" as it can get! And I certainly want to be on the right side of that judgment. Don't you?
I have the testimony of Richard Eby, to whom Yahuah Hayah gave through Yeshua a dress rehearsal of His "Great White Throne" Judgment; Brother Richard wrote that
If you like my kind of study, may I recommend our website, "enterhiscovenant.com", which, first of all, contains an invitation to phone or email requests for prayer, to which I or someone will respond, as we are able! Our website is full of stored sermons offering guidance through Yahuah Hayah's word on every topic imaginable! And the visitor is not obliged to sit and listen to my choice of topic; rather, through our topical index, "Convocations by Topics", he can go to any sermon that interests him and see what Yahuah has to say about the topic of the visitor's choice!
When people recite things to me, a lot of it goes by me without my being able to hear it or process it; so I like the written report, which sits before me so long as I need it before going on to the next idea, especially when I would like to take notes from it; and our website does exactly that, for your careful consideration!
You might wonder how this ministry manages to function in a world where a price is demanded for virtually everything that one needs! Faith Harvest Israel is a faith-based ministry, which relies entirely on the tithes and offerings of people like you, who appreciate what we are doing and make themselves a part of the ministry through their tithes and offerings! If you are one of those people whom Yahuah Hayah has led to be a part of this ministry, address your check or money order to "enterhiscovenant.com" and send it to 18627 Brookhurst St. 557, Fountain Valley, California 92708; and Yahuah will bless you for it.
Let us pray: Our heavenly Father, I thank you for this enlightening time you have given all of us together. I pray that it has been helpful to all who have watched this wonderful live video; and I pray that you bless all of them richly throughout the coming week, for the hunger in their hearts that prompted them to hear Your words! I know that each and every one of these children of Yours is precious to you and that you love him or her passionately! So it has been a great privilege to help you reach out to them and give them Your spirit and life through the words that we have spoken! Thank you for that fulfillment; all the praise and the glory for it be to you; blessed by your precious and holy name! Amen!
