Life after Death

(Please note: This sermon can be directly accessed on the Internet at

Hi! I'm Pastor Floyd! I wish I had a photograph of you, too, so that I could visualize to whom I am talking! But Yahuah Hayah, the Self-Existent, Eternal I AM, Creator of the universe and King over it, knows who you are; and that's all that matters!

At this point in your participation in the service, I recommend that you go to Sabbath Ritual and participate in the prayer in which we like to engage each week, as I do each morning, to avail ourselves of Yahuah Hayah's "Power of Agreement" (Matthew 18:19) for the basic things that all of us must have each day of our lives! Although repetitious and time-consuming, doing that will bless you, the fellowship and all of His children in the universe! It is what some people call "getting prayed up"!

As for the thoughts that Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM) gave me for this Sabbath, according to people who have experienced "clinical death" and returned to life and according to Yahuah's word in His Holy Bible, death is more than losing consciousness and never waking up! In His Old Testament He said, to Abraham: "Thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace! Thou shalt be buried, in a good old age! (Genesis 15:15)

From that one statement alone we surmise that death involves going to a place where others have gone before us and that a difference exists between what goes there and what is buried! One wishes that the language of the Bible could have been more descriptive in places; because, obviously, a person cannot both go to his fathers and be buried at the same time, if we are talking about the same thing!

I am personally grateful for what Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM)'s Holy Bible does give us in the way of information by which to know what we have been doing, what we are doing and what we will be doing; but with respect to such language as the above, we are left to form our own conclusions!

Paul wrote: "I pray God your whole spirit, soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ! (1st Thessalonians 5:23) Somehow he was aware that we are beings formed of three separate parts! And that explains how one part can go to be with his fathers while the other part is buried! And I would have to assume that one's spirit goes to be where other spirits have been taken, while one's body, with its lifeless behavior and swift decomposition, is buried or burned, according to the tradition of the dead person's community! And we need no one telling us about that part of us at the time of death! Yahuah Hayah wrote, through His apostle, of Yeshua ha Mawshiyach, that He was

18put to death, in the flesh, but quickened, by the Spirit, 19by Whom also He went and preached unto the spirits in prison, 20who were disobedient, when the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah! (1st Peter 3:18 to 20)

The people "who were disobedient, when the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah" obviously had died in the Great Flood! And Yahuah Hayah referred, to them, through Peter, as "spirits in prison"!

We might also conclude, from that statement, that the "fathers" to whom Abraham would be taken were also "spirits in prison", which gives us some idea of the state of "spirits" who had died prior to that time!

From a prophecy that Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ) spoke concerning His forthcoming death, we know that the place where Yeshua went and in which His audience for preaching was located was in "the heart of the Earth"! (Matthew 12:40)

Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM) told the informative story of "a certain beggar named Lazarus" (Luke 16:20) and "a certain rich man" (Verse 19): "22 The beggar died and was carried, by the angels, into Abraham's bosom! The rich man also died and was buried, 23 and in Hell he lifted up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off and Lazarus in his bosom!" (Verses 22 and 23)

From that story we learn that, again at that time, "the fathers" were located in two places, the one being of comfort and the other being of "torments"! They were within seeing distance, the one from the other! And, keeping in mind Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ)s prophecy about Himself, we can also be sure that these two places were in "the heart of the Earth"!

As the story proceeds, we learn that the place of Lazarus and that of the rich man were also within hearing distance, one from another; because a conversation ensued, between Abraham and the rich man, who begged him for relief from his torment and for a warning in behalf of his living brothers! But Abraham replied:

Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things and, likewise, Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented! (Luke 16:25)

From Abraham's sad reply we surmise that the difference between the two underground places for the dead and who were taken to which was based upon one's conduct while alive! Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ) said: "Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these, My brethren, ye have done it unto Me!" (Matthew 25:40) And to those who had so "done it" He said, "Come, ye blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world!" (Verse 34)

What had these people done that had so pleased Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM)? Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ) said: "35 I was an hungred, and ye gave Me meat! I was thirsty, and ye gave Me drink! I was a stranger, and ye took Me in: 36 naked, and ye clothed Me: I was sick, and ye visited Me: I was in prison, and ye came unto Me." (Matthew 25:35 and 36) And those practical helps to the immediate needs of their neighbors was, of course, what they had done to "the least of these, My brethren"!

Such practical helps to one's neighbor, which is to love him or her, appears to make all the difference in the world in what one will find in the life beyond, when the body has given out and the spirit must move on! For Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ) will say to those who failed to love their neighbors in such specific ways: "Depart, from Me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the Devil and his angels!" (Matthew 25:41)

These shall go away, into everlasting punishment, but the righteous, into life eternal! (Matthew 25:46)

A lot of people have trouble with the idea that God can send people off to "everlasting punishment" based upon what they do during the few brief years He has given them on Earth! And I am one of those people. But, in my mind, one thing is certain, "The judgments of Yahuah are true and righteous, altogether!" (Psalm 19:9) And I am helped by understanding that His severest judgments are for those who knowingly defy Him! He said, through Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ), through Moses:

30 The soul who doeth ought presumptuously, whether he be born in the land, or a stranger, the same reproacheth the Lord; and that soul shall be cut off from among his people! 31 Because he hath despised the word of the Lord and hath broken His commandment, that soul shall utterly be cut off; his iniquity shall be upon him. (Numbers 15:30 and 31)

Adam and Eve, who are a type of you and me, ate the forbidden fruit, knowing that Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM) had warned them of death if they did! So He drove them from the beautiful garden in which He had put them.

One can argue, until he is blue, about the fairness or the lack of it in what men have reported were Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM)'s words to them; but the bottom line is that for what He likes in His children's behavior He rewards them and for what He does not like He punishes them; He said, through Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ), through Moses:

I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing! Therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live! (Deuteronomy 30:19)

Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ) said: "The Father hath not left Me alone! For I do always those things that please Him." (John 8:29) It's that simple!

I pray that this information I have given you is true in Yahuah Hayah's sight, that it can be stored in your spirit for great and beneficial use to you as the days go by and that we might hear from you now and then as you find it working its wonders in your life!

Father, by my "faith in God"! (Mark 11:22) I "speak" (Mark 11:23), to your children, and command that they be given the knowledge and understanding that relates to life after death!

I rejoice (John 15:11) that You are faithful to fulfill Your children's powerful use of their "dominion ... over every living thing that moveth upon the Earth"! (Genesis 1:28) I know You answered this prayer, in ha Kodesh Ruach, Your Holy Spirit, the moment I said it; and I believe I "receive" (Mark 11:24) a family of brothers and sisters who are rejoicing over the wonderful life You have in store for those who love You and keep your commandments!

I pray that Yahuah Hayah shall bless you mightily, throughout the coming week, and that you will realize in your heart how important you are to the ministry that He has given to Faith Harvest Israel to see that His truth is learned, believed and carried out by all His children throughout the world, so many of whom are in such desperate need of it, not to mention our ministry of practical helps for the disadvantaged!

Amen! Alleluia!
