The Price of Life

(Please note: This sermon can be directly accessed on the Internet at

Hi! I'm Pastor Floyd! I wish I had a photograph of you, too, so that I could visualize to whom I am talking! But Yahuah Hayah, the Self-Existent, Eternal I AM, the Creator of the universe and King over it, knows who you are; and that's all that matters!

At this point in your participation in the service, I recommend that you go to Sabbath Ritual and participate in the prayer in which we like to engage each week, as I do each morning, to avail ourselves of Yahuah Hayah's "Power of Agreement" (Matthew 18:19) for the basic things that all of us must have each day of our lives! Although repetitious and time-consuming, doing that will bless you, the fellowship and all of His children in the universe! It is what some people call "getting prayed up"!

As for the thoughts that Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM) gave me for this Sabbath, He said, through Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ), through Moses: "I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live!" (Deuteronomy 30:19)

In saying that, Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM) had set before His children "blessing and cursing"! And He was referring, through Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ), through Moses, to the list of "blessings" (Deuteronomy 28:2) and "curses" (Verse 15) that He had given them earlier, in which He had covered, virtually, all aspects of a person's life on Earth - those needed by which to be sustained in that life and those to be feared as threatening that life.

A common claim I often hear from the "scoffers" (2nc Peter 3:3), "gainsayers" (Titus 1:9) or unbelievers of the bible is that presumably it was written by leaders wanting to control the people under them by claiming to be speaking for "God" and making their demands as "God", Who will punish the disobedient with His wrath, if they do not do meet His or their demands in the form of "commandments"!

"Scoffers" is a translation of a word meaning "a derider, i.e. (by implication) a false teacher"! (Strong: Greek: 1703) And "gainsayers" is a translation of a word meaning "to dispute, refuse"! (Strong: Greek: 483) My Online Merriam-Webster dictionary defines "deride" as "to talk or write about (someone or something) in a very critical or insulting way"!

But this claim by the "scoffers" (2nc Peter 3:3), "gainsayers" (Titus 1:9) or unbelievers of the bible can only be made by ignoring the fact that the life each of us knows, never mind Who gave it to us, makes its demands upon us, which, if they are ignored, will kill us. If one does not eat past the time it takes for his body to use up its reserves, he dies! If one goes without water beyond the time its body can function on whatever fluid is in it, he dies! If one stays colder or hotter than his body can withstand without ceasing its functions, he dies! If one is deprived of essential nourishment to where his immune system ceases to function, he falls prey to organisms ready to take over his body; and he dies! Lack of essential nourishment can also cause one's body itself to malfunction, in which case he dies! If neighbors choose to harm one and he cannot defend himself, he becomes subject to their dictates; or, if he resists, he dies!

If one is not loved, he dies; because "love" is associated with the provision by neighbors of all the essentials of one's life and with the promise of such provision. The promise of provision we call "hope"; and with hope one's spirit keeps his body functioning, while without hope his spirit shuts down his body's functions; and he dies!

If one has not been blinded by the "scoffers" (2nc Peter 3:3), "gainsayers" (Titus 1:9) or unbelievers of the bible, anyone granting validity to the above-mentioned facts about our life on Earth can see that the commandments of Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM)'s Torah, law and "everlasting covenant" (Psalm 105:10) "with the house of Israel" (Jeremiah 31:31) mirror, precisely, the requirements He has made for one to remain alive!

In recognizing life as the gift of its Creator and that His commandments mirror that life, one also acknowledges that His commandments are two things: 1) they are statements of faith (I believe you will do this or not do that; because I have expressed, by words, My desire that you do them or not do them, which activates My Spirit to encourage you and help you to do it or not do it) and 2) they are an organized verbal expression of the essential activities of the life that He has given us, which, if they are "kept", "observed" or seen as valuable considerations, bring to one's life the fulfillment of it that he desires or, if they are not "kept", "observed" or seen as valuable, bring deprivation, harm and ultimately death!

Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM) wrote, through His psalmist: "The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul!" (Psalm 19:7) In fact, it is so perfect that He commanded through Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ) through Moses: "Ye shall not add, unto the word that I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of Yahuah, your God!" (Deuteronomy 4:2)

So, being far from the preferences of leaders determined to control the people under them, Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM)'s commandments are, first of all, His words to His children to give them an organized grasp of the requirements He has made of them to stay alive; but, secondly, they are the body of knowledge about Him and about the life that He has given His children, which, if they will agree to do or not do what He has said - if they will come into His "covenant" with Him - He will supernaturally help them to fulfill the opportunity that His requirements give to all His children to make of their life in Him the glorious, joyful and peaceful experience that He has wanted for each of them.

Refusing to come into agreement or "covenant" with Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM) leaves one without His "shield and exceedingly great reward" (Genesis 15:1), in which case He leaves us in the hands of Satan, the "Liar" (John 8:44) and "Devourer" (Malachi 3:11), who by his hateful disposition tempts his victims to play with the forces of destruction that Yahuah has ready to overcome anyone who does not comply with His "Price of Life"!

Ministering to young people is a great challenge; because most of them have not experienced the full brunt of Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM)'s requirements to stay alive! And, lacking that knowledge of "the pain of death", they yield to Satan's temptation to believe that they can with impunity go where "it feels good", typically among "friends", who make no demands on them, in complarison to parents, who, knowing Yahuah's requirements for staying alive, plead with or compell their children to help them meet His requirements!

Ministering Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM)'s truth to older people, also, is a great challenge; because, granting that they may have an appreciation of His requirements for staying alive, they cannot understand His ultimate requirement, which is that His disciples love their neighbors and even their enemies so much that they are willing to put their lives into the hands of their neighbors and even those of their enemies, saying, Do with me as you wish! I love you and forgive you no matter what you do to me.

Having laid down His life in exactly that manner, Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ) said, to His disciples: "As My Father hath sent Me, even so send I you!" (John 20:21) To prepare them for that extraordinary sending, He had said, to them: "Whosoever doth not bear his cross and come after Me, cannot be My disciple!" (Luke 14:27) On the night during which He was to be arrested, Yeshua said, to His disciples

13 Ye call Me Master and Lord! And ye say well; for so I am! 14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet. 15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you! (John 13:13 to 15)

For Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ) to put a towel around Himself and wash the feet of His disciples was to take upon Himself the role of the lowliest of servants in any household! And to wash the dirt from His disciples' feet was, in a sense, forgiving them; for the conversation between Him and Peter implies that significance to the washing! When He got to Peter, Peter said, "Lord, dost thou wash my feet?" (John 13:6) And Yeshua replied, "What I do thou knowest not now! But thou shalt know hereafter!" (Verse 7)

8 Peter saith, unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with Me. 9 Simon Peter saith, unto Him, Lord, not my feet only but also my hands and my head! 10 Jesus saith, to him: He who is washed needeth not save to wash his feet but is clean every whit! And ye are clean but not all! (John 13:8 to 10)

The apostle John then added: "For He knew who should betray Him." So John rightly understood that the washing and being "clean" related to the spiritual condition of the disciples and whatever sins of theirs needed to be washed or forgiven!

Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ) allowed wicked men to torture and crucify Him. To demonstrate that He could well have chosen to do otherwise, the men who had come to arrest him "as soon as He had said unto them, I AM, ... went backward and fell to the ground"! (John 18:6) Then, as He was dying on the cross, He prayed, "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do!" (Luke 23:34)

Submitting to the hands of other people no matter what they do is a behavior that is completely foreign to what any person in his right mind would think of doing! Yet it is a behavior commanded by Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM)! Blessings follow those who keep His commandments (Deuteronomy 28:1 and 2); so that is the only reason why one would live in that way, until its benefits become apparent to those who do love their enemies!

In the first place, loving one's enemy ends the practice of going to war against him! So for those living in that way, their life becomes peaceful! Secondly, enemies do good things as well as bad! And, when one stops fighting them and becomes a friend to them, he shares in the goodness that resides in the enemy. Thirdly and most importantly, enemies respond to friendly treatment and stop being enemies; so one gains a brother or a sister in having loved him or her when he or she was mistakenly determined to hurt others!

Finally, Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ) said that Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM)'s "commandment is life everlasting! Whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto Me, so I speak!" (John 12:50) Yahuah's requirement for one to "not perish but have everlasting life" (John 3:16) is that he believe in "His only begotten Son"! (Verse 16)

Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ) or Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM)'s "only begotten Son" (John 3:16) is the One through Whom He gave His commandment to "love your enemies"! (Matthew 5:44) So one must believe and follow that commandment to "not perish but have everlasting life"! (John 3:16)

Furthermore, Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ) said, of Moses: "If ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe My words?" (John 5:47) So to believe Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM)'s "only begotten Son" (John 3:16), which is the only way for one to "not perish but have everlasting life" (John 3:16), one must believe Moses! And Yahuah wrote, through Yeshua, through Moses, His commandment to "love thy neighbor"! (Leviticus 19:18) And, when one looks carefully at the language of that commandment, he finds that one's enemy is the kind of neighbor about whom Yahuah was talking in that commandment:

Thou shalt not avenge nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people! But thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself! I am Yahuah! (Leviticus 19:18)

What kind of person is it that one would want to "avenge" or against whom he would want "bear any grudge"? Is it not a person who has hurt you? And what kind of person hurts you other than your enemy? So loving one's enemy is what Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM) has always commanded! And, whether one receives that commandment through Moses or through Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ), it amounts to the same thing: "love", "bless", "do good to" and "pray for" "your enemies"! (Matthew 5:44) Yeshua said: "Whosoever doth not bear his cross and come after Me, cannot be My disciple!" (Luke 14:27) And about being His disciple, Yeshua said:

31If ye continue in My word, then are ye My disciples indeed! 32And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free! (John 8:31 and 32)

So getting around Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM)'s commandment both through Moses and Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ) that you "love your enemies" (Matthew 5:44) cannot be done, if one wants the "everlasting life" (John 3:16) that He has promised!

Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ) said: "If thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments!" (Matthew 19:17) He was talking about "eternal life"! (Verse 16) And Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM)'s commandment to "love your enemies" (Matthew 5:44) is in both His commandments through Moses (Leviticus 19:18) and through Yeshua! (Matthew 5:44)

So, whether loving one's enemies appears to be an insane undertaking or not, the highest blessing promised by Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM) anywhere in His Holy Bible, which is "eternal life" (Matthew 19:16), is at stake in whether you do it or not do it; and people's getting that through their heads and into their hearts is what first must happen for "the end" (Matthew 24:14) to come, when "this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations", the gospel of "the Son of Peace" (Luke 10:6), Whose "name shall be called ... The Prince of Peace". (Isaiah 9:6)

That truth and obligation upon all of us, my friends, is Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM)'s "Price of Life"! And I heartily recommend that we soon pay it, as difficult or "impossible" as that may seem! He said, through Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ): "With men this is impossible! But with God all things are possible." (Matthew 19:26)

I pray that this information I have given you is true in Yahuah Hayah's sight, that it can be stored in your spirit for great and beneficial use to you as the days go by and that we might hear from you now and then as you find it working its wonders in your life!

Father, by my "faith in God" (Mark 11:22), I "speak" (Mark 11:23), to Your children, and command that they be given the knowledge and understanding of Your truth by which to pay your Price of Life!

I rejoice (John 15:11) that You are faithful to fulfill Your children's powerful use of their "dominion ... over every living thing that moveth upon the Earth"! (Genesis 1:28) I know you answered this prayer, in ha Kodesh Ruach, Your Holy Spirit, the moment I said it; so I "believe" I "receive" (Mark 11:24), even now, a family of brothers and sisters who are rejoicing over the blessing of eternal life that has become theirs for having paid Your Price of Life!

I pray that Yahuah Hayah shall bless you mightily, throughout the coming week, and that you will realize in your heart how important you are to the ministry that He has given to Faith Harvest Israel to see that His truth is learned, believed and carried out by all His children throughout the world, so many of whom are in such desperate need of it.

Amen! Alleluia!
