Letting Go

(Please note: This sermon can be directly accessed on the Internet at

Hi! I'm Pastor Floyd! I wish I had a photograph of you, too, so that I could visualize to whom I am talking! But Yahuah Hayah, the Self-Existent, Eternal I AM, Creator of the universe and King over it, knows who you are; and that's all that matters!

At this point in your participation in the service, I recommend that you go to Sabbath Ritual and participate in the prayer in which we like to engage each week, as I do each morning, to avail ourselves of Yahuah Hayah's "Power of Agreement" (Matthew 18:19) for the basic things that all of us must have each day of our lives! Although repetitious and time-consuming, doing that will bless you, the fellowship and all of His children in the universe! It is what some people call "getting prayed up"!

As for the thoughts that Yahuah Hayah gave me for this Sabbath, a dear friend of mine, who loves Yahuah Hayah with all His heart and has dedicated his life to serving Him, spoke, to me, recently, about "letting go", his intent being to "put aside all past sources of my confidence, counting them worthless, in order that I may experience Christ and become one with Him"!

My friend said he got his inspiration to "let go" in that way and for that purpose from Paul, who wrote of his having done it, in Philippians 3:7 to 9!

On many occasions I had warned my friend about using Paul as any kind of spiritual guide; and here is one of the most glaring examples of why, although he comes across in places as being very right and spiritual in his teaching, Paul invariably leads one into a deadly doctrinal trap!

Paul's passage in Philippians had persuaded my friend to "put aside all past sources of my confidence--counting them worthless, in order that I may experience Christ and become one with Him"!

Neither I nor any member of Faith Harvest Israel is going to take issue with the idea that to "experience Christ and become one with Him" is a desirable thing! He prayed, to His Father in Heaven: "22 The glory that Thou gavest Me I have given them, that they may be one, even as We are one: 23 I in them and Thou in Me, that they may be made perfect in one." (John 17:22 and 23)

Our "life-sustaining" spiritual water is our hearkening to Yahuah Hayah's "voice ... to observe and to do all His commandments" (Deuteronomy 28:1), which He called His "life" (Deuteronomy 30:19; 32:47) and which He confirmed through Yeshua ha Mawshiyach is His "eternal life". (Matthew 19:16 and 17) And He pled, with "the children of Israel" (Deuteronomy 29:1), "Choose life!" (Deuteronomy 30:19)

But from Paul's passage in Philippians, my friend was persuaded to "put aside all past sources of my confidence, counting them worthless, in order that I may experience Christ and become one with Him"! But what of my friend's past life-giving source of confidence in the keeping of the commandments of Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM)'s Torah?

Is that vital source of confidence what Yeshua ha Mawshiyach requires that one "put aside" to "experience" or "become one with Him"?

Let me show you that putting aside "the righteousness that is in the law" (Philippians 3:6) is exactly what Paul said that he "counted loss for Christ" (Verse 7); in fact, he counted it as "dung" (Verse 8), going on to count "all things [including Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM)'s Torah] but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord" (Philippians 3:8)

This is ironic, in that Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ) said, of Moses: "46 He wrote of Me! 47 If ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe My words?" (John 5:46 and 47) And believing Yeshua ha Mawshiyach's words is important; because He also said:

God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life! (John 3:16)

As God "the Word" (John 1:1), Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ) was the one who gave Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM)'s Torah to Moses! He said: "Before Abraham was, I AM!" (John 8:58) But, according to Paul, we are supposed to believe that "Jesus Christ" (Galatians 1:12) then turned around and told Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM)'s children to count "the righteousness that is in the law" (Philippians 3:6) but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus"! (Philippians 3:8) In fact, to "count them but dung"? (Verse 8)

Paul also taught a "righteousness of God without the law" (Romans 3:21); but Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM) showed me how that is possible in two ways: (1) when Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ) taught His disciples to pray "forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors" (Matthew 6:12) and (2) when He prayed from His cross: "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do!" (Luke 23:34)

Paul also taught that "ye are not under the law" (Romans 6:14; Galatians 5:18); that "ye ... are become dead to the law" (Romans 7:4), that "we are delivered from the law" (Verse 6), all of this in violation of Yahuah Hayah's commandment through Moses:

Ye shall not add unto the word that I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God! (Deuteronomy 4:2)

Considering that keeping "the commandments of the Lord your God" is "your life" (Deuteronomy 32:47), even "eternal life" (Matthew 19:16 and 17), how is it that Paul wanted his followers to count "the righteousness that is in the law" (Philippians 3:6) as "dung, that I may win Christ" (Verse 8), when the true Mawshiyach said one cannot believe Him without believing the writings of Moses, which were "the law"?

Truly something is sadly amiss, in this picture; and my friend's being convinced that he should "put aside all past sources of my confidence--counting them worthless, in order that I may experience Christ and become one with Him", when the past sources of his confidence were the Word of God that contained Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM)'s life-giving torah, is a mystery to me and a source of amazement, to say the least!

Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ)'s promise is that for those who "keep My commandments" (John 14:15) He would pray that His Father give them His "Spirit of truth"! (Verse 17) Of that "Spirit of truth" He promised that "He will guide you into all truth" (John 16:13) And Yahuah Hayah wrote, through His psalmist:

142 Thy law is the truth, and 151 all Thy commandments are truth. (Psalm 119:142 and 151)

Having anything to do with Paul's teaching opens one up to the confusion that dominated his teaching or "gospel" (Galatians 1:11), as he called it; so Faith Harvest Israel will have nothing to do with Paul or his teaching; and anyone who continues to use Paul's teaching as his "source of confidence" without carefully comparing them to the teachings of Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM) through Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ) through Moses and through Yeshua directly is playing on the slippery bank of a raging stream that is heading straight for Hell!

If that sounds like a harsh assessment of Paul's part of the bible, it was meant to be; because the damage it has done to Yahuah Hayah's children over these many centuries is incalculable! But they have deserved it; because they did not pay attention to what their Creator and His beloved Son said while giving such overriding importance to an upstart apostle who showed up twenty years later! Yeshua ha Mawshiyach said, to "the Jews" (John 5:18):

I am come in My Father's name, and ye receive Me not! If another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive. (John 5:43)

Paul opened every one of his letters with "his own name"! The Jews of the early church received him; the Gentiles received him; and billions of believers have received him since then, to their shame, confusion and destruction! This fellowship believes in Him Who came in His "Father's name".

I pray that this information I have given you is true in Yahuah's sight, that it can be stored in your spirit for great and beneficial use to you as the days go by and that we might hear from you now and then as you find it working its wonders in your life!

Father, by my "faith in God" (Mark 11:22), I "speak" (Mark 11:23), to Your children, and command that they be given the knowledge and understanding of You by which to know what to "let go" and what to cling on to for dear life!

I rejoice (John 15:11) that You are faithful to fulfill Your children's powerful use of their "dominion ... over every living thing that moveth upon the Earth"! (Genesis 1:28) I know you answered this prayer, in ha Kodesh Ruach, Your Holy Spirit, the moment I said it; so I "believe" I "receive" (Mark 11:24), even now, a family of brothers and sisters who are rejoicing in their confidence that You, Your beloved Son and Moses are their "way", "truth" and "life"!

I pray that Yahuah Hayah shall bless you mightily, throughout the coming week, and that you will realize in your heart how important you are to the ministry that He has given to Faith Harvest Israel to see that His truth is learned, believed and carried out by all His children throughout the world, so many of whom are in such desperate need of it.

Amen! Alleluia!
