Thoughts for the Sabbath of
2015 July 18

The Grateful Heart

(Please note: This sermon can be directly accessed on the Internet at http://www.honorhislaw.com/Sabbath20150718.htm)

Hi! I'm Pastor Floyd! I wish I had a photograph of you, too, so that I could visualize to whom I am talking! But Yahuah Hayah, the Self-Existent, Eternal I AM, the Creator of the universe and King over it, knows who you are; and that's all that matters!

At this point in your participation in the service, I recommend that you go to Sabbath Ritual and participate in the prayer in which we like to engage each week, as I do each morning, to avail ourselves of Yahuah Hayah's "Power of Agreement" (Matthew 18:19) for the basic things that all of us must have each day of our lives! Although repetitious and time-consuming, doing that will bless you, the fellowship and all of His children in the universe! It is what some people call "getting prayed up"!

As for the thoughts that Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM) gave me for this Sabbath, He wrote, through His psalmist:

Thou art holy, O Thou Who inhabitest the praises of Israel! (Psalm 22:3)

I have read this and heard it said many times! But I never stopped to ask myself: Why does Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM) inhabit the praises of Israel?

Furthermore, Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM) has now caused me to realize that the difference between His inhabiting something in relation to the children of Israel and not inhabiting any such thing is critical! For without His Spirit's showing Himself to us in a special way, we may as well be lying comatose in a hospital bed, for all that a life without Him consists of. And I am an authority on that subject; because, having come alive in Him after walking thirty years in rebellion against Him gives me the comparison by which to appreciate how dead a life without Him can be!

Ha Kodesh (the Holy) Ruach (Spirit) is in even the comatose person, giving him sufficient functions to be alive at all, even while lying unconscious in a bed! But that is, hardly, the life we envision for ourselves, in which we enjoy the activities we associate with being conscious and able to get around, doing all the various things that people enjoy doing! And Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM) would have us understand that all such activity is possible to enjoy to the fullest extent only for those who are praising Him.

Of course, that idea sounds strange and is readily challenged by people who presumably are getting along fine while not praising or even acknowledging their Creator and King; so we are dealing, here, with a concept or a perception of things that is not easily explained or defended! So what is the problem with people who believe they are "getting along fine while not praising or acknowledging their Creator and King"?

In His Holy Bible, Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM) calls such people "dead"! He said, through Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ): "Follow Me! And let the dead bury their dead." (Matthew 8:22) and "Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God!" (Luke 9:60)

If people who are "dead" in Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM)'s eyes are able to "bury their dead", obviously their being able to walk around and do things is no guarantee of being alive in the sense in which He necessarily was speaking! And I have to assume that He was speaking of His children's being spiritually dead while physically alive and able to do normal activities! He said, through Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ):

Except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of Heaven! (Matthew 5:20)

So one's having "righteousness" is one more critical matter being addressed in that saying; and I dare say that entering "into the kingdom of Heaven" does not await one's going there on losing his or her physical body! For Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM) explained, through Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ): "If I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you." (Matthew 12:28) and "The kingdom of God is within you." (Luke 17:21)

Being in Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah's (I AM's) kingdom while still in a physical body on Earth is only in the sense that I was home in California while visiting in Mexico! What I am talking about is where one's allegiance lies. I was a citizen of California while visiting wherever! While our heart or love is in "the kingdom of God" (Matthew 12:28; Luke 17:21), His Spirit has permission to bless us in ways unique to His kingdom; and that fulfills the idea of His "inhabiting" us.

But why do "the praises of Israel" move Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM) to "inhabit" or show Himself in special ways to those who are doing the praising?

What is it about praise that is so attractive to Him?

The word "praise" (Psalm 22:3) is a King James translation of a word meaning "laudation" , according to Strong's Exaustive Concordance (Hebrew: 8416); and my online Merriam-Webster dictionary defines "laud" as "praise" or "extol"; and it defines "extol" as "to praise highly" or "glorify"!

I see in the word "glorify" the act of showing glory; and one more definition from Webster: "glory" is defined as "worshipful praise, honor and thanksgiving"! So I think we get the idea of what it is that Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM) "inhabits"! He "inhabits" or shows Himself in special ways to those among His children who express their appreciation of Him. We are made "in the image of God" (Genesis 1:27); and He likes being appreciated exactly as we do.

Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM) said, through Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ): "Give, and it shall be given unto you." (Luke 6:38) Show appreciation; and others will show their appreciation for you!

What happens when we fail to show appreciation?

That gives others the impression that we think something is wrong with them or with how they are treating us; and that makes anyone sad! If we think something is wrong in a relationship, it has been spoiled! Its power to please us has been disrupted! That is why Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM) said, through Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ):

If thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault, between thee and him alone! If he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother! (Matthew 18:15)

Please notice that "hearing" (and I would assume correcting, as well) a fault in us that a person has told us about (or a "tresspass against" the complainer) causes the complainer to "gain" us, which confirms what I was saying about a fault's disrupting the relationship, to where it cannot function in the free and happy way that we enjoy in a good relationship, where we are loving one another and helping one another in the way that Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM) wants us to relate, even with our "enemies"! (Matthew 5:44)

But our "enemies" are continually spoiling or disrupting the relationship, right? Right! So we conduct our end of the relationship as though no such disruption exists! And - What do you know? - before long the enemy has forgotten that a reason for disrupting the relationship existed in his mind; and the situation is healed! What a magnificent prescription that is for what is ailing this tired old world!

Seeking to gain one's brother or sister puts a premium on the simple expression, "I'm sorry!" In other words, "The idea that I have displeased you in any way saddens me; and I will certainly be careful not to repeat that fault.

That restores the good relationship and is the "repentance" (Matthew 9:13) to which Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ) said he came to "call ... sinners"! (Verse 13) In fact, He came to lay down His "life" (John 10:17) in obedience to His Father's "commandment" (Verse 18), to "purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God"! (Hebrew 9:14)

Within the context of this discussion, we can now see that "dead works" are "deadening" works or works that disrupt our life with Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM)! Having told us about His "blessings" (Deuteronomy 28:2) and "curses" (Verse 15), He said, through Moses: "I have set, before you, life and death, blessing and cursing! Therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live!" (Deuteronomy 30:19) He said, of "all the words of this law" (Deuteronomhy 32:46): "It is your life!" And He said, through Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ)

If thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments! (Matthew 19:17)

He was talking about "eternal life" (Matthew 19:17) And is not "eternal life" the ultimate prize we all seek?

"Sin is the transgression of the law!" (1st John 3:4) Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ) said He came to "call ... sinners to repentance"! (Matthew 9:13) He did that by allowing wicked men to crucify Him, shedding His blood! Mankind would never be the same, now having to face the fact that some among them were willing to do such a terrible thing to the innocent "Son of God" (John 3:18), Who "went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed of the devil"! (Acts 10:38)

So Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM)'s children on Earth can well consider that maybe they are not so good as they think they are, that maybe they should "hearken diligently unto the voice of Yahuah, thy God, to observe and to do all His commandments" (Deuteronomy 28:1) and thus remove the "fault" that has been disrupting their relationship with Him, thus opening it up to the praises of Him that He inhabits!

Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM) has given us a "dominion ... over every living thing that moveth upon the Earth"! (Genesis 1:28) He said, through Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ):

Whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things that he saith shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he saith! (Mark 11:23)

Who other than ha Kodesh (Holy) Ruach (Spirit) could possibly remove a mountain and cast it into the sea?

Is that not Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM) doing what you want done, if you believe that this dominion is the powerful tool for achievement that He intended that it be for His beloved children?

Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM) hearkens to our voice "to observe to do" (Deuteronomy 28:1) what we have commanded! So is not our doing the same for Him a most reasonable fulfillment of the relationship or "covenant" that He wants between Himself and His children?

How more fair or loving can a God be?

Our entering into that covenant with Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM) comes lined with gold! He said, through Moses: "Thou shalt remember Yahuah, thy God: for it is He Who giveth thee power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant!" (Deuteronomy 8:18)

This loving and considerate two-way relationship between Himself and His children is Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM)'s heart's desire! And anyone entering into it with that understanding in his heart has entered "into the kingdom of Heaven"! (Matthew 5:20)

But woe be unto him who enters into that covenant supposing he can make it a one-way street - "What is mine is mine and what is yours is mine. You do what I say, but never mind what you have asked me to do." Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ) said:

21 Not every one who saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of Heaven but he who doeth the will of My Father Who is in Heaven! 22 Many will say, to Me, in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Thy name? and in Thy name have cast out devils? and in Thy name done many wonderful works? 23 Then will I profess, unto them, I never knew you: depart, from Me, ye Who work iniquity!(Matthew 7:21 to 23)

"Praise" is what a grateful person does. Anyone who has considered the work of Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM)'s amazing hands in the making and sustaining of His creation will invariably enter into His covenant for the right reason and with the right understanding of how it works! So Yahuah "inhabits" the grateful person's expressions of gratitude, blessing Him mightily for participating in His covenant "righteously" or in the right way! He said, of "the children of Israel" (Deuteronomy 29:1):

Yahuah shall establish thee an holy people unto Himself, as He hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of Yahuah, thy God, and walk in His ways! (Deuteronomy 28:9)

That is the bottom line of what I live for.

I pray that this information I have given you is true in Yahuah Hayah's sight, that it can be stored in your spirit for great and beneficial use to you as the days go by and that we might hear from you now and then as you find it working its wonders in your life!

Father, by my "faith in God"! (Mark 11:22) I "speak" (Mark 11:23), to your children, and command that they be given the knowledge and understanding of You by which to watch You "inhabit" their praises!

I rejoice (John 15:11) that you are faithful to fulfill your children's powerful use of their "dominion ... over every living thing that moveth upon the Earth"! (Genesis 1:28) I know you answered this prayer, in ha Kodesh Ruach, your Holy Spirit, the moment I said it; so I believe I "receive" (Mark 11:24) even now a family of brothers and sisters who are rejoicing over Your inhabiting their praises of You that their grateful hearts continually express!

I pray that Yahuah Hayah bless you mightily, throughout the coming week, and that you realize in your heart how important you are to the ministry that He has given to Faith Harvest Israel to see that His truth is learned, believed and carried out by all His children throughout the world, so many of whom are in such desperate need of it.

Amen! Alleluia!
