Yeshua's Blood

(Please note: This sermon can be directly accessed on the Internet at http://www.honorhislaw.com/Sabbath20161217.htm)

Hi! I'm Pastor Floyd! I wish I had a photograph of you, too, so that I could visualize to whom I am talking! But Yahuah Hayah, the Self-Existent, Eternal I AM, Creator of All and King over it, knows who you are; and that's all that matters!

At this point in your participation in the service, I recommend that you go to Sabbath Ritual and participate in the prayer in which we like to engage each week, as I do each morning, to avail ourselves of Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah's (I AM's) "Power of Agreement" (Matthew 18:19) for the basic things that all of us must have each day of our lives! Although repetitious and time-consuming, doing that will bless you, the fellowship and all of His children throughout His creation! It is what some people call "getting prayed up"!

As for the thoughts that Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM) gave me for this Sabbath, Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ) said, of wine that He gave His disciples to drink: "This is My blood of the New Testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins!" (Matthew 26:28)

But Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ) had said earlier, to His disciples: "9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father Who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name! ... 12 Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors! 14 If ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you!" (Matthew 6:9, 12 and 14) Having shed His blood, Yeshual prayed: "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do!" (Luke 23:34)

That immediately raises a question: If Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach's (the Messiah's or Christ's) blood was "shed for many for the remission of sins", why had not the people He prayed for from His cross been already forgiven? And, if they had been, why did He feel required to pray that His Father in Heaven forgive them?

So, which is it? Did His blood's being shed forgive them? Or did Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach's (the Messiah's or Christ's) prayer to His Father bring about the forgiveness?

And, continuing with more questions, consider what John wrote at the beginning of his account of the amazing vision that Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM) had given him on "the isle that is called Patmos" (Revelation 1:6): "5 Unto Him Who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood 6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and His Father; to Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever! Amen!" (Verse 5 and 6))

So now what do we do?

According to Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach's (the Messiah's or Christ's) words, we have a heavenly Father who will forgive us merely by our asking Him for it while forgiving others (Matthew 6:12); and we have Yeshua's declaring that He "will also forgive you", "if ye forgive men their trespasses" (Verse 14); yet we have John writing that Yeshua "washed us from our sins in His own blood" (Revelation 1:5); and we have Yeshua Himself declaring that His blood, which He knew was about to be shed, "is shed for many for the remission of sins"!

The idea that Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM) forgives those who forgive others comports well with Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach's (the Messiah's or Christ's) having said: "Give, and it shall be given unto you." (Luke 6:38)

Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. (Matthew 5:7)

If Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah's (I AM's) children obtain mercy by giving mercy or being merciful, how is it that Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach's (the Messiah's or Christ's) blood washed our sins, having been, as He said, "shed for many for the remission of sins"?

Please take note that mercy's being given to the merciful requires something to be done on the part of the merciful, while being "washed ... in His own blood" requires nothing on the part of the cleansed or, presumably, the forgiven! So the only way we can unravel this doctrinal stalemate is to look carefully at other things that Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ) said, to see, if we can, what all of this amounts to.

While having stated what His blood would be "shed for", Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ) also made some interesting statements declaring Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah's (I AM's) purpose in sending Him; He told Pilate: "To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth!" (John 18:37) He also said: "31 If ye continue in My word, then are ye My disciples indeed! 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free!" (John 8:31 and 32)

I cannot believe that anyone having been made free by Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ), Who is "the only begotten Son of God" (John 3:18) is on his way to Hell! Indeed, He said: "If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed!" (John 8:36)

That's being true, please take notice of what makes anyone "free": Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ) said: "The truth shall make you free." But, if that is true, what happened to His "blood ... shed for many for the remission of sins"?

In the light of these comparisons, would it not be reasonable to suppose that the shedding of Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach's (the Messiah's or Christ's) blood had something to do with His bearing "witness unto the truth"?

It became true that Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah's (I AM's) religious leaders hated His Son so much that they had Him crucified by the Romans! And that "truth" comports well with the truth that sin does violence to Yahuah's children and to Him because His Spirit is in His children, giving them their breath of life, to mention only one of the amazing things on which their life depends!

So we find Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah's (I AM's) writing through His author: "How much more shall the blood of Christ ... purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?" (Hebrews 9:14)

Our "conscience" or "moral consciousness" (Strong: Greek: 4894) is our sense of right and wrong! And that sense depends upon having the truth about right and wrong; and only one place in the world tells us what that truth is; Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM) wrote, through His psalmist:

Thy law is the truth (Psalm 119:142); and

All Thy commandments are truth. (Psalm 119:151)

The reason that the truth of Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah's (I AM's) Torah or law and His commandments relate to one's conscience, which needs to be purged and is purged by knowing what wicked men did to Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ), is that to "enter into the kingdom of Heaven" (Matthew 5:20) one must have "rightesousness" (Verse 20); and it is in Yahuah's Torah that He offers righteousness to His children! He said, through Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ), through Moses:

It shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before Yahuah, our God! (Deuteronomy 6:25)

So one's observing or putting a value on "all these commandments" is Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah's (I AM's) requirement for one to enter into His "kingdom of Heaven", which are His truth about what His children should be doing! And the "conscience" that has been purged or made to know the truth by His wicked people's shedding His Son's blood, is then one that causes its owner to "serve the living God"!

Failing to serve God by breaking His commandments is called "sin"! Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM) wrote, through His faithful apostle John: "Sin is the transgression of the law!" (1st John 3:4) And with that in mind we can then understand why Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ) was concerned about sinners, having said: "I am ... come to call ... sinners to repentance!" (Matthew 9:13)

"Repent" (Matthew 4:17) means to "think differently"! (Strong: Greek: 3340) And, since Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ) came to "bear witness unto the truth" and since His children's crucifying Him and shedding His blood showed how sin violates both Him and His Father, we understand how that shedding was and is to this day His "call" for "sinners" to come to "repentance" or to "think differently" about sinning or breaking the commandments of Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah's (I AM's) Torah or law by purging their conscience about sinning.

Finally, from all this careful analysis, we understand how Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach's (the Messiah's or Christ's) blood was "shed for many for the remission of sins"! Because when we hear the call of Yeshua's brutal torture and death on the cross and therefore "repent", we will "confess our sins" (1st John 1:9), in which case "He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness!" (Verse 9), which then permits us to "enter into the kingdom of Heaven"!

So Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach's (the Messiah's or Christ's) blood being shed was never to take Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah's (I AM's) place as the One to do the forgiving; rather, it was the bearer of the truth by which sinners are caused to repent, confess and thereby ask for the forgivenss that their Father in Heaven is eager to give any of His children, once they have been convinced, as the horrible thing that was done to Yeshua does, that sin or the breaking of Yahuah's Torah is too terrible to have anything further to do with it.

However, when we get into reading Paul's teaching, we get an entirely different picture of what brings anyone forgivenss: It begins exactly where Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach's (the Messiah's or Christ's) teaching about His blood begins, with His making clear that His blood, which He knew would be shed, was "for many for the remission of sins"! For we read, in Paul's letter to the Romans: "God hath set forth (Yeshua) to be a propitiation ("atoning victim" - Strong: Greek: 2435) through faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins!" (Romans 3:25)

Although Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach's (the Messiah's or Christ's) explanation for His blood's being shed and that of Paul both declare it to be "for the remission of sins", already we have run into two critical differences! For one's faith is to be "in His blood" while Yeshua said: "God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life!" (John 3:16)

So, which are we to believe in - Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ) or His blood?

If we believe in Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ), He said that it is "our Father in Heaven" Who does the forgiving; but, if we believe in Paul, it is Yeshua's blood we are to believe in.

The second "criticual difference" is that, according to Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM), "our righteousness" is obtained only by observing "to do all these commandments"! And, according to Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ), that "righteousness" is Yahuah's requirement for one to "enter into the kingdom of Heaven", whereas in Paul's teaching "our righteousness" has nothing to do with "the remission of sins"; rather, it is "His righteousness" or that of Yeshua, which means that our behavior in relation to Yahuah's Torah also has nothing to do with our entering His kingdom; and, if any doubt exists that this assessment of Paul's teaching is accurate, consider these statements made by Him:

1 Ye could not be justified by the law of Moses! (Acts 13:39)

2 The righteousness of God without the law is manifested. (Romans 3:21)

3 A man is justified, by faith, without the deeds of the law. (Romans 3:28)

4 Ye are not under the law. (Romans 6:14)

5 Ye ... are become dead to the law. (Romans 7:4)

6 We are delivered from the law. (Romans 7:6)

7 2 If ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing! 3 For I testify, again, to every man who is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. 4 Christ is become of no effect unto you; whosoever of you are justified by the law, ye are fallen from grace! (Galatians 5:2 to 4)

8 Ye are not under the law. (Galatians 5:18)

9 6 [As] touching the righteousness that is in the law, [I am] blameless! 7 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ! (including “the righteousness that is in the law”) 8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss (including “the righteousness that is in the law”) for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for Whom I have suffered the loss of all things (including “the righteousness that is in the law”) and do count them but dung!” (Philippians 3:6 to 8)

10 13 You, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath He quickened together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, 14 blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to His cross! (Colossians 2:13 and 14)

So in Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach's (the Messiah's or Christ's) teaching, His blood's being shed has everything to do with bringing Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah's (I AM's) children back to observing to do the commandments of His Torah, while in Paul's teaching about Yeshua, faith in His blood for the remission of sin is the focus, while Paul heaps complete contempt upon his follower's observing to do the commandments of Yahuah's Torah!

Can any two teachings be so radically different yet both be contained in a book the contents of which are believed by millions of people to be, cover to cover, "the inspired word of God"?

I pray that this information I have given you is true in Yahuah Hayah's sight, that it can be stored in your spirit for great and beneficial use to you as the days go by and that we might hear from you now and then as you find it working its wonders in your life!

Father, by my "faith in God"! (Mark 11:22) I "speak" (Mark 11:23), to your children, and command that they be given the knowledge and understanding by which to understand Your purpose in sending Yeshua, Your beloved Son, to die for your children!

I rejoice (John 15:11) that you are faithful to fulfill your children's powerful use of their "dominion ... over every living thing that moveth upon the Earth"! (Genesis 1:28) I know you answered this prayer, in ha Kodesh Ruach, your Holy Spirit, the moment I said it; and I believe I "receive" (Mark 11:24) a family of brothers and sisters who are rejoicing over the wonderful blessings and eternal life that believing Yeshua brings upon them!

I pray that Yahuah Hayah shall bless you mightily, throughout the coming week, and that you will realize in your heart how important you are to the ministry that He has given to Faith Harvest Israel to see that His truth is learned, believed and carried out by all His children throughout the world, so many of whom are in such desperate need of it, not to mention our ministry of practical helps for the disadvantaged!

Amen! Alleluia!
