"Bought with a Price"

(Please note: This sermon can be directly accessed on the Internet at enterHiscovenant.com/Sabbath20171223.htm)

Hi! I'm Pastor Floyd! I wish I had a photograph of you, too, so that I could visualize to whom I am talking! But Yahuah Hayah, the Self-Existent, Eternal I AM, Creator of the universe and King over it, knows who you are; and that's all that matters!

At this point in your participation in the service, I recommend that you go to Sabbath Ritual and participate in the prayer in which we like to engage each week, as I do each morning, to avail ourselves of Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah's (I AM's) "Power of Agreement" (Matthew 18:19) for the basic things that all of us must have each day of our lives! Although repetitious and time-consuming, doing that will bless you, the fellowship and all of His children in the universe! It is what some people call "getting prayed up"!

As for the thoughts that Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM) gave me for this Sabbath, He reminded me of two places where Paul wrote "Ye are bought with a price!" (1st Corinthians 6:20; 7:23)

Slaves are bought and sold; and - Surely enough! - Paul spoke of our being "bought with a price" (1st Corinthians 6:20), referring, of course, to the "price" that Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ) paid, in allowing His enemies to torture and kill Him, ostensibly to "buy" Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM)'s children! And the key idea to remember about that abominable arrangement is that the slave is bought and sold without regard to what he wants for himself! It is done by trampling upon his will in favor of the will of another! By whatever circumstance, he has been overtaken by neighbors who have raised themselves up to be his master, to be the beneficiaries of his labor from the day of his servitude until he dies! It is a reprehensible situation, occasioned by the grievous mentality of the slave owner, which proceeds on the assumption that he is worthy of being served by his neighbor under pain of punishment or death, should the slave take exception to that arrangement!

This idea of our relationship to Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM) is then accurately reflected in Paul's "gospel" (Galatians 1:11), in which one is presumably saved by "faith in His blood" (Romans 3:25) or in the blood of Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ), which was shed on the Roman cross of execution, upon which He was nailed for His having answered in the affirmative the demand of "the High Priest ... I adjure thee, by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God!" (Matthew 26:63)

Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless, I say, unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of Power and coming in the clouds of Heaven! (Matthew 26:64)

As interesting as that prophecy may be, what you and I are necessarily concerned about is what all that had to do with us! And so we find that both Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ) and Paul spoke of Yeshuah's blood being "shed for many for the remission of sins" (Matthew 26:28), as Yeshua said, Paul's language, also, being that it was: "for the remission of sins"! (Romans 3:25)

But in Paul's verse addressing that critical matter, it was Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ)'s "righteousness" that was "for the remmission of sins", no mention being made by Paul of "our righteousness", which by the authority of Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM)'s Torah through Yeshua through Moses is obtained only by those who "observe to do all these commandments before Yahuah, our God!" (Deuteronomy 6:25)

In Paul's "gospel" (Galatians 1:11), Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ)'s "righteousness" is declared by His being "set forth to be a propitiation" (Romans 3:25) or "an atoning victim"! (Strong: Greek: 2435) And He was "set forth" (Romans 3:25) to be that victim "through faith in His blood" (Verse 25) or through attributing to His blood the power to forgive as had the lamb or "atoning victim" throughout Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM)'s Torah through Yeshua through Moses! He wrote:

27 If any soul sin through ignorance, then he shall bring a she goat of the first year for a sin offering. 28 And the priest shall make an atonement for the soul who sinneth ignorantly ... to make an atonement for him; and it shall be forgiven him. (Numbers 15:)

Throughout Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM)'s Torah, law and covenant, one's being "forgiven" was the point of the "atonement" or the sacrifice of the lamb or "goat"! And Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ) said: "Think not that I am come to destroy the law or the prophets: I am not come to destroy but to fulfill!" (Matthew 5:17) So, when His blood was shed, He became the "atoning victim" (Strong: Greek: 2435) and those who saw it or since then have heard of it have been able to consider themselves forgiven, as Paul would have it, "through faith in His blood" (Romans 3:25) as having the power to obtain that forgiveness for any of us who have received that "faith in His blood"!

That same arrangement seems to have been implied by Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ)'s language, as well, His having said, of the wine that He gave His disciples to drink: "This is My blood of the New Testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins!" (Matthew 26:28) But, when we look carefully at other statements He made about the purpose of His coming, we are obliged to look for the true reason why His shed blood would be "for many for the remission of sins" or how, actually, that would be accomplished! He said:

I am ... come to call ... sinners to repentance! (Matthew 9:13)

"Sinners" "sin", which is "transgression of the law"! (1st John 3:4) So "sinners" have been breaking the commandments of Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM)'s Toraw, law and covenant! And that action has been an exercise of their will!

"Repent" (Matthew 4:17) means to "think differently"! (Strong: Greek: 3340) And since our thoughts precede our actions, "repentance" or "thinking differently" about our actions still involves the exercising of our will for the betterment of our circumstances! And that is a "power" residing in us! So what happened to Paul's "faith in His blood" or attributing to it the "power" to forgive?

Yes! We are obliged to see in Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ)'s shed blood the "atonement" (Numbers 15:28) that the priest made by sacrificing a lamb brought "if any soul sin through ignorance" (Numbers 15:27), so that the sinner can be "forgiven"! (Verse 28)

But, if "repentance" (Matthew 9:13) involves changing the exercise of one's will, which is the power residing in us to decide what we will do, Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ)'s making of Himself "an atoning victim" (Strong: Greek: 2435) had no bearing on "His righteousness" (Romans 3:25) but rather on "our righteousness" (Deuteronomy 6:25), which is obtained by one's observing "to do all these commandments before Yahuah, our God"! (Verse 25) He wrote, through His author:

How much more shall the blood of Christ ... purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? (Hebrews 9:14)

Similarly, Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM) wrote, through His author, concerning the sacrifices of His Torah, law and covenant, that they were " a figure for the time then present ... that could not make him who did the service perfect as pertaining to the conscience!" (Hebrews 9:9)

Our "conscience" is our "moral consciousness" (Stong: Greek: 4893), our sense of "right" and "wrong"; and that can only be learned by hearing Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM)'s "voice" (Deuteronomy 28:1) in our spirits or from the commandments of His Torah, law and covenant!

So the purpose of Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ)'s shedding of His own blood was not to have it forgive, if one only believes that it will, but to have it affect the will and conduct of Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM)'s beloved children, to where He could forgive them for having observed or put a value on the commandments of His Torah, law and covenant!

We have had to cover a lot of ground to get to this particular understanding of what Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ) came to Earth to accomplish! And my prayer is that I have led you through enough facts or truths about it to see that purpose clearly! For muddy or unclear thinking about it will get you sent to Hell.

Christians regard Paul's writing to be "the word of God"! So some of them deliberately sin and then console themselves with the false idea that because they believe Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ)'s shed blood has the power to forgive them regardless of their sinning they are alright with God! But, in their indifference to Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM)'s Torah, law and covenant, they forget that His "atonement" only applies to those who "sin through ignorance"! (Numbers 15:27) He wrote, through Yeshua, through Moses:

30 But the soul who doeth ought presumptuously, whether he be born in the land or a stranger, the same reproacheth Yahuah; and that soul shall be cut off from among his people! 31 Because he hath despised the word of Yahuah and hath broken His commandment, that soul shall utterly be cut off; his iniquity shall be upon him. (Numbers 15:30 and 31)

So we are dealing with matters far more serious than one may suppose from hearing the arguments for salvation based on Paul's teachings! For, althought they sound to be quite the same as those of Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ), the meaning is quite different and the responsibility we bear in the matter quite heavy! Still, Yeshua said:

28 Come, unto Me, all ye who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest! 29 Take My yoke, upon you, and learn of Me! For I am meek and lowly in heart! And ye shall find rest unto your souls! 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light(Matthew 11:28 to 30)

Please notice that Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ)'s appeal is not to believe that something will done for one but that one is to do something that will "give you rest"! We are to take His "yoke" upon ourselves - in other words, do something: shoulder a task - a "light" task but still an obligation! So Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM)'s purpose is not to remove responsibility from us but to direct it so that it will produce an "easy" and "light" result in our lives! He said: "Choose life!" (Deuteronomy 30:19)

Paul's personal experience was heavily affected by his being imprisoned in Rome, writing of himself as being "in my bonds"! (Philippians 1:7) In another place he referred to "my bonds in Christ" (Verse 13) and "my bonds" (Verses 14 and 16), writing in still another place of "the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds" (Colossians 4:3) and asked that his followers "Remember my bonds"! (Verse 18)

To his follower Timothy, Paul wrote: "8 Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel, 9 wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds! But the word of God is not bound. 10 Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sakes, that they, also, may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory!" (2nd Timothy 2:

In his letter to Philemon, Paul wrote: "I beseech thee for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds" (1:10) or while he was in prison!

In his letter to the Hebrews, Paul wrote: "Ye had compassion of me, in my bonds, and took, joyfully, the spoiling of your goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in Heaven a better and an enduring substance!" (10:34)

Having suffered imprisonment, Paul's heart went out to those who had suffered similarly, writing: "Remember them who are in bonds, as bound with them; and them who suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body!" (Hebrews 13:3)

Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ) warned that "tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word"! (Matthew 11:31) But does that explain Paul's discomfort? Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM) warned, through Yeshua, through Moses, that "if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of Yahuah, thy God, to observe to do all His commandments ... all these curses shall come upon thee and overtake thee". (Deuteronomy 28:15) So was Paul's imprisonment "persecution ... because of the word" or the cursing that follows failure to hear Yahuah's voice?

Paul wrote: "Ye are not under the law" (Romans 6:14; Galatians 5:18) and eight other blesphemies of "the law" (Acts 13:39, Romans 3:21 and 28, Romans 7:4 and 6, Galatians 5:2 to 4; 6:18, Philippians 3:6 to 8, Colossians 2:13 and 14); so why are we surprised that he suffered the cursing Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM) promised in "the law"?

Indeed, the salvation Paul offered in his "gospel" (Galatians 1:11) looks almost the same as that offered by Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ)! But I have endeavored to show how that "gospel" misses the heart of Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM) concern for His beloved children and leaves them without hope in the world, if they buy Paul's version of it.

I pray that this information I have given you is true in Yahuah Hayah's sight, that it can be stored in your spirit for great and beneficial use to you, as the days go by, and that we might hear from you, now and then, as you find it working its wonders in your life!

Father, by my "faith in God"! (Mark 11:22) I "speak" (Mark 11:23), to your children, and command that they be given the knowledge and understanding of Your purpose in sending Your Son to Earth to die!

Father, I rejoice (John 15:11) that You are faithful to fulfill your children's powerful use of their "dominion ... over every living thing that moveth upon the Earth"! (Genesis 1:28) I know you answered this prayer, in ha Kodesh Ruach, your Holy Spirit, the moment I said it; and I believe I "receive" (Mark 11:24) a family of brothers and sisters who are rejoicing over the wonderful eternal life that awaits those who do understand Yeshua's coming to Earth and respond to it appropriately!

I pray that Yahuah Hayah shall bless you mightily, throughout the coming week; and that you will realize in your heart how important you are to the ministry that He has given to Faith Harvest Israel to see that His truth is learned, believed and carried out by all His children throughout the world, so many of whom are in such desperate need of it.

Amen! Alleluia!
