"All Things New"

(Please note: This sermon can be directly accessed on the Internet at

Hi! I'm Pastor Floyd! I wish I had a photograph of you, too, so that I could visualize to whom I am talking! But Yahuah Hayah, the Self-Existent, Eternal I AM, Creator of the universe and King over it, knows who you are; and that's all that matters!

At this point in your participation in the service, I recommend that you go to Sabbath Ritual and participate in the prayer in which we like to engage each week, as I do each morning, to avail ourselves of Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah's (I AM's) "Power of Agreement" (Matthew 18:19) for the basic things that all of us must have each day of our lives! Although repetitious and time-consuming, doing that will bless you, the fellowship and all of His children in the universe! It is what some people call "getting prayed up"!

As for the thoughts that Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM) gave me for this Sabbath, He reminded me of the place where Paul wrote "If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature! Old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new!" (2nd Corinthians 5:17)

This of course reminds us of the hope that is expressed for "the new year", with its "resolutions" or determinations to "do it right" this time, everyone's desire being that the failures of the previous year will not be repeated and new wisdom be applied to our activities in the new year so that they can bring the success and fulfillment that we missed last year.

In another place Paul expressed a similar idea, writing: "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus!" (Galatians 3:28) I see a similarity between this saying and the one declaring "all things" to have "become new", in that losing one's racial identity, social status and even gender in favor of being "one in Christ Jesus" certainly amounts to "old things" passing away and having "become new" "in Christ"!

But this idea does not quite settle, with me; and Paul, a master of contradictions, gives me the reason why, his having written:

13 By one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. 14 For the body is not one member, but many! 15 If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? 16 And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? 17 If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling? 18 But now hath God set the members, every one of them, in the body, as it hath pleased Him. (1st Corinthians 12:13 to 18)

19 If they were all one member, where were the body? 20 But now are they many members yet but one body. 21 The eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. 22 Nay, much more, those members of the body that seem to be more feeble are necessary! 23 And those members of the body that we think to be less honorable, upon these we bestow more abundant honor; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness. 24 For our comely parts have no need! (1st Corinthians 12:19 to 23)

But God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honor to that part which lacked, 25 that there should be no schism in the body but that the members should have the same care one for another! 26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honored, all the members rejoice with it. (1st Corinthians 12:24 to 26)

27 Now ye are the body of Christ and members in particular! 28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues! 29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles? 30 Have all the gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? 31 Covet, earnestly, the best gifts: yet show I, unto you, a more excellent way. (1st Corinthians 12:27 to 31)

So Paul himself shows why the idea of losing one's differentness from others, whether of race, social status or gender could only lead to confusion and that Yahuah Hayah's wisdom in making us as we are with our differences permits us to do for one another what others cannot! Indeed, He has not given to all His children the same gifts, talents or functions, rather letting us work together to cover the needs common to all of us.

This comes home to Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM)'s "First and Great Commandment" (Matthew 22:38) that we love Him and " the second ... like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself" (Verse 39), both commandments being those on which "hang all the law and the prophets"! (Verse 40) One cannot say that he loves a neighbor of whom he denies any individuality or special ability to help others!

When the wrong spirit is being listened to, one invariably sees this truth being violated and all people associated with the wayward person being forced into one mold of the wayward person's making, instead of his recognizing and giving due respect for the ways in which Yahuah Hayah has made each of us special and needed for the fulfillment of all of us.

And where the wrong spirit is being listened to, one invariably sees a disregard for the lessons of the past, of which the elders of the family or community have had an opportunity to become well acquainted! This is, of course, no guarantee that grey hairs cover a head full of wisdom; but the grey-haired are more likely to have gone through enough in life to have gained a fair measure of it and thus be helpful to the younger members trying to find their way through the maze of difficulties that life brings!

In writing about "all things" becoming "new", Paul is of course applying that newness to being "in Christ" (2nd Corinthians 5:17) And "Christ" "of God is made unto us wisdom" (1st Corinthians 1:30), the idea being that when we accept Him as the Lord of our life, we also enter into His wisdom! And that sounds great! But the practicing of it reveals more of a growing process; and, this time, we go to Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ)'s beloved apostle John to learn of the day when we will "be like Him". (1st John 3:2) He wrote:

2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God! And it doth not yet appear what we shall be! But we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is! 3 Every man who hath this hope in Him purifieth himself, even as He is pure. 4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. 5 And ye know that He was manifested to take away our sins; and in Him is no sin. 6 Whosoever abideth in Him sinneth not! Whosoever sinneth hath not seen Him, neither known Him. 7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he who doeth righteousness is righteous, even as He is righteous. 8 He who committeth sin is of the Devil! For the Devil sinneth from the beginning! For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the Devil. 9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin! For His seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God! 10 In this the children of God are manifest and the children of the Devil! Whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he who loveth not his brother! (1st John 3:2 to 10)

If we do nothing more in this sermon than sort out what John has covered in that passage, we will have done well! For, obviously being inspired of ha (the) Kodesh (Holy) Ruach (Spirit), he has brought together virtually all considerations necessary to please Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM) and thus be included among His blessed children!

"Now are we the sons of God!" (1st John 3:2)

In writing, "now are we the sons of God", John implies a time when we were not! But I would ask, What time ever existed when we were not among those whom He "created ... in His own image"? (Genesis 1:27) And I venture to say that we have always been among those children of His.

What I believe John meant was, Now are we mindful that we are the sons of God, having forgotten for a time that we were any such thing! For, in speaking of "These little ones who believe in Me" (Matthew 18:6), Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ) spoke also of those who would "offend" (Verse 6) them or "entice to sin" (Strong: Greek: 4624) those believing ones. And, since as John wrote "sin is the transgression of the law" (1st John 3:4) breaking Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM)'s Torah, law and covenant is the object of that enticement, "For the Devil sinneth from the beginning!" (1st John 3:8)

"It doth not yet appear what we shall be!" (1st John 3:2)

This is what suggests, to me, the "growing process" of which I spoke above! For "what we shall be" is not evident from how we are behaving now, having so much to learn! But, being favored with the appearance of Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ), we will have His example before us; and, desiring with all our hearts to be like Him, we will pattern our conduct after what we then will be privileged to see!

"Every man who hath this hope in Him purifieth himself, even as He is pure." (1st John 3:3)

I would say we have the desire to "purify" ourselves; John touches upon that purity in saying, "He who doeth righteousness is righteous, even as He is righteous." (1st John 3:7) And, when we go to Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM)'s Torah, law and covenant, we find that He extends "our righteousness" to those who "observe to do all these commandments before Yahuah, our God"! (Deuteronomy 6:25)

I dare say that not one of us has "all these commandments" even memorized, let alone acted upon, which emphasizes my insistence that we are in a growing process, if in fact we are among those who "observe" or put a value on Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM)'s commandments. One can put a value on something, even though he has not mastered the doing of it, which explains why John was able to say that the one "who doeth righteousness is righteous"; for doing "righteousness" is that putting of value on what Yahuah has commanded, for which He looks upon His obedient child as having "righteousness".

So "righteousness" relates to our attitude toward the commandments of Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM)'s Torah, law and covenant more than to what we actually are accomplishing in that regard; and "righteousness" is the key to one's entering into Yahuah's "kingdom of Heaven"! (Matthew 5:20) In the meantime, His "judgments" deal with the actual accomplishment, which are "true and righteous, altogether"! (Psalm 19:9)

This careful distinction between how we look upon Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM)'s Toraw, law and covenant and what we actually do about it was addressed by Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ), when He said: "Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of Heaven! But whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of Heaven." (Matthew 5:19)

Both of these children necessarily are "righteous" or putting a value on Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM)'s commandments, or they would not enter His kingdom at all, never mind what they will be called there! But in this verse Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ) addresses the fact that one can be wrong in his doing and teaching about "one of these least commandments"; and being "least" or "great" relates to Yahuah's "judgments" for what was actually done, the one whose actions and teaching were correct being called "great"!

So it is advisable that you and I listen carefully to Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM)'s "voice" (Deuteronomy 28:1) in our spirit, to be certain that we are correct in our efforts to please Him.

"Sin is the transgression of the law!" (1st John 3:4)

Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ) said: "I am ... come to call ... sinners to repentance!" (Matthew 9:13) "Sinners" of course "sin"! And whether or not one is sinning affects his going to "Heaven"! (Matthew 5:20) So it is best that we get that issue straight from the beginning: it is all about Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM)'s Torah, law and covenant and what we are doing about it.

John wrote: "He who committeth sin is of the Devil! For the Devil sinneth from the beginning! For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the Devil." (1st John 3:8) So the "sinners" whom Yeshua (Jesus) ha Mawshiyach (the Messiah or Christ) called "to repentance" were also "of the Devil"! And, since Yeshua "was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the Devil" (1st John 3:8), we find that He did that by allowing His enemies to torture and kill Him; for Yahuah (Self-Existent, Eternal) Hayah (I AM) wrote, through His author:

How much more shall the blood of Christ ... purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? (Hebrews 9:14)

I pray that this information I have given you is true in Yahuah Hayah's sight, that it can be stored in your spirit for great and beneficial use to you, as the days go by, and that we might hear from you, now and then, as you find it working its wonders in your life!

Father, by my "faith in God"! (Mark 11:22) I "speak" (Mark 11:23), to your children, and command that they be given the knowledge and understanding of Your purpose in sending Your Son to Earth to die!

Father, I rejoice (John 15:11) that You are faithful to fulfill your children's powerful use of their "dominion ... over every living thing that moveth upon the Earth"! (Genesis 1:28) I know you answered this prayer, in ha Kodesh Ruach, your Holy Spirit, the moment I said it; and I believe I "receive" (Mark 11:24) a family of brothers and sisters who are rejoicing over the wonderful eternal life that awaits those who do understand Yeshua's coming to Earth and respond to it appropriately!

I pray that Yahuah Hayah shall bless you mightily, throughout the coming week; and that you will realize in your heart how important you are to the ministry that He has given to Faith Harvest Israel to see that His truth is learned, believed and carried out by all His children throughout the world, so many of whom are in such desperate need of it.

Amen! Alleluia!
